As I said elsewhere

On the subject of transport I don't think it is beyond the wit of man and would entail very little financial outlay to

1. Train Stewards to line up fans on the platform and load Trains efficiently and be capable of counting P&R numbers to allow buses to be be loaded in Parallel.
2. Put one display in each stand with train times and webcams of the train and P&R queues.

And, if a few quid is going, put perspex covers over P&R and Train queues.

Free pints after a midweek match,.

You have to purchase post game, but are given a voucher, which you can redeem 45 minutes after the final whistle when you leave the concourse. This will reduce the queues immediately post match, thereby allowing those that need to make a quick exit a greater opportunity to do so,

Two 8 carriage trains going from Brighton to Lewes and back would sort it out after the game, even one would make a difference. Before the game they are doing the commuter routes and not much could be done, I know reasons have been given before but I cannot believe they can’t find the coaches after 9.30pm. On Tuesday a couple of trains were parked up for the night while 3 and 4 coaches were being used for the football.

Rebuild the Bridge Car Park tunnel into at least three lanes, and replan the junction and lights system to enable exiting traffic to flow much faster onto the road back into Brighton, and also that heading east. Also put a second storey into the carpark, doubling its capacity.

Oh. Did you say £10m budget...?

Guessing Network Rail would want £10 m for the feasibility study on that let alone anything else.

It does really boil down to more frequent and longer trains (ideally a shuttle service between Brighton and Lewes, in addition to existing services). I know there are probably reasons why this is not possible, so a fleet of buses leaving from Village Way behind the South Stand (where the number 25 stops), going direct to central Brighton could help.

Also, Brighton & Hove Buses could put on extra services on their existing routes. Anyone who has tried to catch the No 29 to Lewes/Ringmer/Uckfield and Crowborough, will know it's difficult to get on post-game. One additional service after matches would help.

This would all require subsidy from the club however and they don't seem bothered.

How often are we going to argue about this.
I've used the train only a few times so I can't comment on them.
I used the P&R for 5 years or so, until they closed Lewes Road and now I use a coach.
But a solution. Has anyone mentioned turning the left exit lane on the A27 into a bus lane, yes me 100's of times. Shove cameras up and the council can make money at the same time. It's all about the turn-around of buses and that takes too long, simple.

Sorry to point a hole in this one, a big issue is that Lewes Platforms 4 and 5 ( the only reversible lines) only has a 6 car limit, and that’s why they are reduced to 4, as there are no 5 cars in the south of the network, as well all 3 car units are in use to run a 6 car. If anyone of you are keen eyed, there is an additional 8 car Lewes service that forms off a Gatwick Express pre and post match, which sends 4 back to London. In terms of post match strengthening, additional stock doesn’t really go off services until at earliest 10, but little additions in that way have been added over time.

Roof over waiting area for trains and more imaginative queue management would help. Trains going towards Lewes post match shouldn't be leaving half empty. People should be encouraged to change at Lewes if the train arriving doesn't go to your final destination.

In terms of trains, not sure what else can be done. The nature of the GTR 'franchise' means that the DfT pay them a flat fee and assume the revenue risk.

They are unlikely to bother about adding rolling stock. Particularly if the present Government are serious about taking the railways back into public ownership.

Hence there is no commercial imperative for them to improve. Nor is some football supporters being inconvenienced a few times a year likely to bother them.

More (better) stewards to marshall the train queues. Sick to death of seeing trains leave with space at the ends of the carriages.

Agree with @Man of Harveys, improve comfort around train queue provisions. The fan zone is a step in the right direction though.

My only other suggestion is an additional paid park and ride service where fans can walk to the bus stop on the A23 and use additional bus services to get back to Mill Road/Pyrcombe etc but that require an additional surcharge and run once the first round of standard P&R buses have departed. I.e. for those not prepared to wait for the second round of buses.

Apart from that, perhaps paid lickspittle chaileyjem could come up with some ideas. Ideally something other than calling out fans on here for using the wrong words when describing the piss poor transport situation.
