There were almost more of them in the ground than our own fans 5 minutes from the end - so disappointing that so many didn't stay to see the end of a match that was on a knife edge. I'll never understand it, even allowing for the travel issues.
Many didn't come at all because of the travel issues. This is something that will not change (I'm pretty sure its actually getting worse) unless the club do something significant to make travelling (esp for evening games) easier. However hard that may be, only the club can make that happen. However, they choose not to, therefore people leaving early or not turning up, cant matter to them.

Therefore, don't worry about it!

I was riveted so stayed until the end. The atmosphere generally was better than I was expecting with the tv coverage and it was one of those matches that being there was miles better than tv.

But having experienced plenty of the travel issues in the past I can understand why early departure happens. I think it's a tough call for a lot of folk with long or difficult travel.

Because of the ticket availability I saw in the train queue more than the usual crop of first-timers who found it quite stressful as ever - some of the Mitoma fan base that comes DFL for the match and with high smartphone dependency bewildered by the lack of certainty etc. Parents with youngsters that have taken the one-off opportunity to get tickets etc etc. All of these folk you could understand leaving early (and will leave even earlier if they ever come back).

Sorry as Bozza has said, have gone off topic from OP.

I left at 85 minutes due to the travel issues.
I got home at 11.30
I wasn't feeling all that well.
I am old
I care more about the points than I care about seeing us finalize them
There was another reason that slipped my mind....
Oh yes, I'll do what I want. Because I'm worth it.

(and we left Fav at 3.50. So that's nearly 8 hours of my fast-vanishing life I'll never get back).
You ARE worth it 👍

I abstain from slagging off early leavers generally as it’s a free country and it doesn’t impact on my life although last night I observed many getting up to leave at really inappropriate/puzzling time I.e right in the middle of us attacking. If I’m going for a piss or a half time beer I’ll wait for a suitable break in play despite sitting right near an exit. In the same token, I wouldn’t get up and move in the middle of an over at the cricket.

I did 60 miles yesterday after arriving back from the states with about 2 hours sleep. Great getting down , but didn't get back until after midnight as I stayed until the end....
Here you go. Keep the spare one for next time you're special.

You would understand it if you lived zillions of miles away from the Amex and had to use public transport. Get held up and miss the last train home and you’re f***ed. Fans have many reasons for having to leave a game early and I’ve given you one. At least those you criticise made it to the game and supported the boys rather than not turn up at all.

Perhaps we could build a smaller lego stand mk2 in the South stand specially for fulham so they don't get too lonely.

Well congratufuckinglations what an absolute superfan you are, I am sure there is a massive medal waiting for you somewhere in the dusty vaults of the Amex so you can wear it up at St James' on Sunday to prove you are better than most fans

And a 100 miles is nothing !
Bit simplistic just quoting the distance. It involves loads of roundabouts on the A31, then the crap M27, then yet more roundabouts in the Chichester area, getting stuck in the Arundel non-bypass, the Worthing debacle and finally the A27 coming into B&H - all at rush 'hour' time. It took nearly an hour from MR P&R to the Amex last night. I was speaking to a Bournemouth fan in the bus queue last night that had driven from Bristol. Good on them all for actually getting there and supporting their team.

Well quite. We set off at 3.30pm, and we live 45 minutes along the route they'd have to drive. It is a shit journey.

(At least they only have to do it once a year, rather than every other week!)

Bet you really appreciated the unexpected (as in, no warning signs) closure of the A27 at Lancing last night - especially the way that they let you get to the new roundabout before making you double back to flyover.
