Most of us vent. Some of us when drunk or worse. But we’re not public figures who get a very nice wedge for arbitrating neutrally.
And there was no suggestion Coote ever displayed any bias against Liverpool in the years after that comment was made. My point is, you can, within reason, say what you like, so long as you know your audience. He evidently didn't, and perhaps his sense of judgement on that particular occasion was impaired by other things. but for me, referees wouldn't be human if they didn't have opinions about managers. Or about players, in fact. Some might say it's a good thing if a referee is aware that certain players have a propensity to collapse to earth following the slightest contact. You can still apply the rules.

Completely bizzare and inhumane take, as always.
A referee needs to be able to tell his friends that Jurgen Klopp is a ****. Someone working as a new presenter needs to be allowed to tell their family that they don't like Donald Trump. A judge in a high profil case need to be able to tell his buddies that he doesn't like mass murderers. People are not machines that merely work for your pleasure, they are humans.

He didn't tell a friend. He told a complete rando who'd asked him back for some Colombian based afters once the pub closed. And he allowed it to be filmed. And thought it was funny.

De Zerbi is incredibly overrated by a number of Albion fans.

Like many of our former managers, he was the right man for the job, at the right time, to take over the fantastic side that Potter built, and add his own character to take us into Europe and best ever finish, playing great football along the way.

For me, I've disliked him after his second season here. He did a legendary job for taking us to Europe - but his stubbornness with tactics and team selection, and piss poor attitude making demands and being a miserable c*nt saw us completely bend over against Roma and give up on the season in general... It was a poor season - he was out of his depth, and he demanded that the only reason was lack of investment, when it wasn't.... it was him.

Good to see Swansman back and spending the best part of his first 48 hours on the board slating De Zerbi. Every f***ing time. Incredible.

We knew he was a headcase when he was with us. Some of us loved it. Move on.
Obviously. Some people spend time here masturbating over him, some slate him. I'm in the latter category, you're in the first. Hence you being annoyed.
If I had spent 48 hours talking about him as the sexy, hot shag you guys usually describe him as, you'd have no complaints.

Of course they will.

For me…
Without Hughton you don’t survive and get Potter
Without Potter you don’t have the style of play and foundation
Without RdZ you don’t take the style of play further and hit Europe

They have all played an important role.
Summed up pretty well. Each had their flaws too.

Partly why I’ve been Hurtz in so far, Barbs and Bloom been more often than not getting these calls right. Despite some wobbles this season, this call also deserves some time and again proving they might know what they’re doing when running a football club.

Once he started turning on Bloom then my admiration and support for him evaporated. Coming into one of the best run football clubs in the world and slating the owner, the spending strategy etc really got my goat. Potter left for Champions League and life changing money. DeZerbi left because his ego was too big. I dare say he’ll leave Marseilles halfway through next season when they don’t spend enough for the Champions League.

This is just getting daft as it always does discussing Potter/RDZ it’s almost childish.
One achieved our highest ever finish one didn’t.
Out of his depth? Not for me he will be managing in the champions league next season with or without Marseille.

You’re right but it’s a fact that some referees have a big club bias in England…..imo
Its a 'fact' in your 'opinion'.

Something in your sentence isn't quite right 😂

I think that was the season when we were top of the league for apologies from the PGMOL. We were on the receiving end of some incredible gaffes by the VAR numpties. Luckily it didn’t affect our final position and our first ever European campaign.
I think it did affect our position. We were close to Champions League without those gaffes

Potter was great for a bit after being not so good.

RDZ was great for a bit and then he wasn't.

The reason this discussion goes round and round is because neither proved themselves with us and the jury is still out in both.

The sticky part is that both showed enough to get people moist for them.

Time will tell if either of them become a top manager but so far nothing has been proven.

Both achieved our highest ever finish didnt they? Just as Alan Mullery and Mike Bailey can also lay claim to that feat.

That whole thing de Zerbi did where players had to go round and eat dinner at his flat? f***ing odd.
The dinner was okay but those slippers they all wore….that was f***ing odd.

Ah, those halcyon days of Mike Bailey’s Brighton beating Ajax in the UEFA Cup….
