Pull yourself togetherThis is pretty disturbing imo. Looks like Apple have had to make concessions on what was their primary brand value that user data would never be accessible to anyone but the user and now the government has forced them to remove encryption that protects your data. Even worse why are Labour hell bent on being able to snoop on all of us and erode our rights to privacy? We really are racing into quite scary Orwellian territory imo.

I should really read 1984 so I can finally decide whether things are Orwellian or not.
It's a term I've heard used by people of all different political persuasions for a multitude of reasons which probably means most of them are talking out of their Big Brother Brown Eye.

I trust UK governments of any colour on such matters. I’ve nothing to hide, they have their hands full already with people who’d do us harm, they wouldn’t remotely be interested in us, imho.

Since you can't overthrow a government that always know what people think and does, people only need to choose one really bad apple (similar as they've done in the US) and it all becomes very complicated.
I can't believe a society that produced Orwell and Huxley also could produce the naivety on display here. I guess a lot of people just don't agree with their ideas about the future, but it seems equally many haven't actually read any of their works, which is astounding as they're two of the greatest intellectuals of the last century - and your countrymen.

I have this feature turned on, my iCloud is registered to the US when I was working there. But as mentioned in here, labour can be trusted. It's not like they've locked up people for mean words online while letting terrorists and paedos go free.
