Last season I was on the train to Falmer and met a Japanese fan who was going to his first game and was unsure of where to go. As it happened his ticket was for the West Upper - same as me. I advised him to tag along with me to save any problems. I asked how long had he been in the U.K. thinking that he might be a student or on a long holiday. Nope! He told me he flew from Tokyo and arrived that morning, was staying in Brighton overnight and returning to Japan the following morning. Now THAT my friends is one dedicated fan.
Newcastle away in a day would be a BREEZE for this fella 😎

Managed to miss this on the 21st but yes, very emotional. When it started I was expecting him to say that he'd been a Brighton fan since 2017 or some other recent, but re-Mitoma date. Instead he's been a fan since 1973! He's been on pretty much the same journey as a lot of us here.

Fantastic stuff.

Massive shout out to the two Japanese fans who video’d every moment Mitoma was near us then absolutely screamed their delight when the penalty went in, hope they had a great day

There was a large group of what I think was a Japanese women's football team (student team I'm guessing).
They'd have been bang in trouble on corners.

I was talking to a young couple in their twenties from Texas before the game in the East Stand Upper.
They both had Albion baseball caps with the US flag embroidered on the side.

Unfortunately the brand is "47" which is embroidered on the opposite side of the cap to the flag.

They thought it was a nice touch from the Albion to recognise the 47th President!
