Potter … the real words!

“The first half was nowhere near where we want to be

We suffered from an early goal, which is a poor goal from our perspective. And then without too much happening in the game, they had too many transitions that were dangerous.

In fairness, credit to Brentford, when we conceded the goal that we did, it almost plays into the game that they want it to be. They defend deep, well, and it’s hard to create real opportunities against them.

If you don’t attack well, you expose yourself to them attacking big spaces, which they’re very good at.

So, it’s understandable, but again, not what we wanted at all. So we all have to learn from that. I think the second half was a real positive response.

Of course you want to get results, you want to win football matches. That’s just the Premier League for you, and you have to understand that. But yeah, results-wise, we all want to win, we all want to have success.

In the second half Jarrod Bowen was adamant he should have had a penalty when he was shoved by Keane Lewis-Potter, but nothing was given.

“Yeah, we looked at it and it was certainly a case for it,” added Potter. “I was surprised the VAR didn’t have a look at it, to be honest.”
He really is the David Brent’s Management Conference of Premier League coaches.

The mods might want to create a parody account Graham Stephen Potter (like PPF’s), to churn out management speak cliches after poor WHU results. Said in the first person, with “we” and “the group” aplenty.

One of my near neighbours is a West Ham fan, and he was at yesterday's match.
He was quite happy when Potter was appointed as their manager, but I warned him to not expect a quick turnaround in the Hammer's fortunes.
Hopefully I will see him today to canvass his current view.

I hope he fails and fails badly. I hope he fails so badly that he can't even get taken seriously enough for pundit work, anywhere, not even Talk Sport.
He bores me so much. Beneath the makeover is just a relief teacher, not a very good one either.
Bore off Graham.
So much bitterness, time to let it go, surely? He's "suffered" enough with his Chelsea debacle, which is payback enough for me. Your resentment will eat you up from the inside out.

Even my younger brother who doesn't follow footie that much said to me that Potter's seems like a fraud and talks
nonsense/flannel buzzwords etc all the time.

No chance will you see him today, he’s in front of his computer for at least a week learning his West Ham history….

Out of interest, rewind to the days prior to his departure and he doesn’t leave, do we think him and his little gang would still be here right now and what wound he have achieved?

Had he stayed and, like RDZ did, managed to take the club to Europa League he might still be around and had a go for another EL winter. A call from the FA might have changed things. Who knows?

:ROFLMAO: That's as clear an example of a manager saying his team shouldn't have had a penalty as you'll see.

West Ham fans won't put up with his buzz words for long if they don't start seeing results. He'll have to dig out his tin hat which has hopefully be reinforced. Some people on here think we have some entitled fans, get yourself down to the London Stadium. Jeez, has anyone ever met a happy Hammer?

I find it sad, but understandable, how so many Albion fans are revelling in his current predicament. He has inherited a team that was pretty shite anyway and turning it around in a couple of months was never going to happen. If he doesn’t get the tin tack he’ll need at least two transfer windows and a year to have them playing as he wants them to.

How do you align wanting him to fail whilst using an Albion loan player woefully out of form as his only no 9? Both could easily fail…
