“They can’t get Ferguson permanently,” a source close to the deal exclusively told Hammers News.

“Tony Bloom (Brighton’s owner) has quoted them £90m.”

Christ that article, how far I had to scroll to find out the “crushing blow” was very obnoxious

To summarise.....

Basically, West Ham want their own Harry Kane who will stay loyal to them for ten years, whilst banging in the goals and not getting injured. Errr - don't we all.

In the past their strikers have either been crap, perma injured and anyone good has quickly left. They are hoping Evan is the man, but won't pay anything near £90 million.

So Tony Bloom quoted them a price? Well I never ................................

Lot of fluff and flannel in that crappy article. I'd love it to turn out to be accurate, but my breath is not currently being held, that's for sure.

"His involvement in the Brighton first team waned due to ankle and ACL injuries, as well as the selection decisions of manager Fabian Hurzeler — less keen on Ferguson than Potter or Roberto De Zerbi were".

Did we ever work out how many appearances Ferguson made under Potter?

Potter takes a side swipe at Brighton?

“ But obviously, that's our challenge now, to make sure that he's fit, to make sure that he's healthy and enjoying his football, because then he's a talent."

Meaning he has not enjoyed when he has been playing?
“I have no idea whether he was enjoying his football or not at Brighton; he hasn’t indicated anything negative to me. When you’re not playing and you’re injured and you’re coming back from that long rehabilitation road, it’s just not enjoyable.”

One in the PL, two in the cup?

Nailed on he'll score against Brentford today. A home game for West Ham, against an injury hit Brentford.
Fingers crossed he fires them to victory.

I’ve got my eye on the points gap (5 pts) between the top ten and the bottom ten. I don’t want Brentford, Man Utd or Palace getting anything this weekend. I want that gap to really grow.

There should be a prosecution under the trades description act for that strapline. The first sentence of the actual article states straightaway:
"Graham Potter would not be drawn into discussing whether West Ham might seek to sign Evan Ferguson on a permanent deal if his six-month loan from Brighton goes well !"
