Rory Stewart leaned to left. He wasn't a modern Tory, he was very one nation. He even defended Socialism. He got on because he was very competent and capable.
While on talking about pod casts, Electrol disfunction has Ruth Davison on the former Scottish Tory leader,when listening to her and Rory Stewart you realise how far right the present Tory party are…..I mean they threw Nicholeas Soames out of the party who was Churchills grandson.
Leaned to the left of the Tories, you mean? His politics has always been right of centre

One thing I find interesting about Trump is the way he's perceived globally. Everyone I've spoken to from India and China tends to view him quite favorably (I was surprised), which aligns with broader data from those countries. Yet, ironically, these nations were significantly more impacted by his policies than, say, the UK.
I live in a very blue state, where the prevailing attitude toward him is much closer to that of Europe - very negative. It’s interesting how perspectives on him vary so dramatically depending on geography and political context. Also why some of the countries most affected by his tariffs and policies still see him in such a positive light.

I don't normally go in for that sort of thing but 'needs must' and all that.
That's exactly how I interpret "leaning". Hes not a rabid right winger, not is Campbell a hardcore leftist. They both lean a certain way though
In my work, I interact with people from around the world and am often surprised by foreign perspectives. Foreign journalists must have a hell of a job translating Trump tbf

I think that Europe has to accept that Trump's US is going to be too unreliable to be a partner in defence and trade policies. The UK needs to align closer with Europe on defence and trade and dismantle/ withdraw previous agreements with the US.

yeah, there seems to be a lot of people saying that he os doing exactly that he said he would. In fact the exchange i was responding to started with a poster saying it.
In a way it's good that after weeks of speculation, it has been confirmed that Europe can no longer depend on The States to subside its defence. We're on our own, and get used to it, we're at war with Mr Genocide's regime. The orange one is only interested in negotiating on real estate that is enriched with precious minerals. I hope that Macron was serious about creating a European army, 'cos we're gonna need it. Thank god Kaja Kallas has become more influential on the European stage, after being the Estonian prime minister. I'm in awe of this woman. She represents the voice of reason.
