The more likely scenario - rising sea levels.

Even in that scenario I am sure that Thames Water would find a way to discharge sewage into the ocean.

Godstone High Street would also be in real trouble.

Don't tell @cunning fergus - he reckons it's only 11% in the UK....

It’s possible you are one of the many who post on here that are unable to separate fact from opinion so I wont make this to pithy.

The Times newspaper commissioned YouGov to conduct a major survey of Gen Z, which included their attitudes to the U.K., and fighting for the U.K. if it was required. Gen Z are the 18-28 age cohort, so their attitudes would be relevant in any discussions re potential conflict or some form of conscription. Referencing the outcomes of that exercise is not opinion, it did take place, the results were published.

There is no age restriction on the new version you reference, but it stands to reason the findings would be different if a wider age group cohort was taken into consideration for this particular survey.

Either way, and here is my opinion, even if (any) polling suggests 50% of the country would fight, in practice this still be problematic, as they wont if the other 50% of their peers are sitting at home (whether here or back “home” abroad) with their trotters up.

The Britain that could impose national service or anything like it is gone and the trajectory is pointing to a completely different country, socially and otherwise. Politicians and commentators do not seem to recognise that whilst the wider population does.

For example, the last census confirmed over 1 in 3 children born in this country are to at least 1 foreign parent, (above 60% in London) and this is not a new statistic. It is therefore reasonable to suggest that within the Gen Z population many of that cohort are not as committed to serve their country of birth in the event of say war with Russia. That’s just a starting point to other political and social factors that would inhibit a mobilisation of the citizenry to take up arms for this country.

Feel free to disagree with the last bit.
