[Albion] Getting to and away from the amex at night games

My student and his wife are going to be going to the Chelsea game this Friday.

I usually take the bus to the amex and often take the bus back to town too. However, I've never been to a night game at the amex. Is the bus a good option? What time do they run to? Are they still regular at that time of night?

It feels like the simplest option is the train back but I don't want a slight 40 something Japanese woman to be crushed or part of any trouble if there should be any.

What's the best option?

Thanks!

Walk past the station towards the Bridge car park, and keep walking to Moulsecoomb Way, where the 49 turns round. They run every 10 minutes and will be empty.
You will be back into town within 12-15 minutes.

Every 20 minutes at that time of night and it takes 30 minutes to get back to Old Steine. Not sure about being empty as loads of people have cottoned on to the 'secret' bus over the last few seasons.

It's their first time in Brighton so unfortunately I think that'll be a bit much for them. There's a good chance they'd spend the night going round in circles in Moulescoomb!

Yup, one of the very few genuine Amex travel cheats has been eroded in recent seasons. Tho still pretty effective for those leaving the North that show a clean pair of heels

Most day trippers/tourists leave before the final whistle so that might be the best option, leave on 85 minutes and head for the station (remembering to queue on the left and do not go up the ramp (I'm always amazed how many people assume you get on the train the same side of the platform you get off)

I can give you a lift to Swindon if that helps?

And be prepared to log on to NSC later that evening and be ripped to shreds on my 'Early leavers' thread.

Just keep it simple - tell them to wait half an hour or so after the final whistle, have a beer/tea/soft drink in the concourse, hopefully soak up the atmosphere after a great win and then walk straight onto a train into Brighton
After a Friday night 8pm kick-off? Good luck with that

It's a straight road with a tiny dog leg at the bus stop.

The bus is empty when it arrives at the stop. I won't bother debating the time into Brighton at 10.30pm.

Just get the train like everyone else I'm sure they'll be fine.

It's a tricky one really, especially when you consider the official stats and the appalling number of Japanese women that have died getting to and from the Amex and/or in crowd violence. How Mitoma sleeps at night is beyond me.
Best to send in a photo of the lady in question , we may be able to offer some guidance

The train queue does take a while to clear but I'd still say that is the best bet. You will be gone in around 45 minutes, will seem longer as they will be stationary and it will be freezing! No need to leave early, leave dead on the whistle or on 90 minutes and they should be able to get away in reasonable time.
