Awoniyi absolutely wiped out by the midget Exeter keeper (you'll remember him: the lifelong Palace fan making his debut at the Amex who let a soft Solly March shot through his hands a couple of years ago).

Fair play to Exeter: hanging on very well with ten men against Gibbs-White, Wood, Anderson etc. Shame for Turns- didn't think it was a red and I was quite enjoying him getting in the face of that Poundland Grealish who plays for Forest. Hard to see them clinging on through 30 minutes of extra time though.

Imagine the meltdown on here if the Chelsea game had gone on this late

Imagine the meltdown on here if so-called "short" keeper Maty Ryan had been the same height as Whitworth, who is just under 5'9".

Disgrace really that this game was played tonight, making forest fans travel to Exeter for a Tuesday night fixture. To rub salt into the wound, hardly anyone would've been watching either what with City - Real on, plus the fact this round has been going on so long I forgot there was still a fixture to be played anyway

You have to feel for him as good as he may be he'll never make the grade being so small.

That terrace - the biggest in England doncha know - looks fantastic.

I'd consider switching allegiance, but I bitch enough getting back from the Amex. I'd never deal with the matchday commute to and from Exeter.

You push a Premier league side all the way to a penalty shoot-out and then you realise you have a schoolboy in goal who makes the goal appear twice the size for every Forest player.

Waste of space, Whitworth. He might as well have gone and sat on the bench for the shoot out.

He won't. He's had a decent season for Exeter by all accounts, and I've seen Palace fans online getting excited about his prospects because of that, imagining he's the future of their goalkeeping hopes, all the more so because he's a boyhood fan of their club.

Wake up, lads. He is never, ever making it as a Premier League goalkeeper at 5'9". I've seen Sanchez make a better fist of saving penalties than he did tonight. They might as well have stuck Yoda in goal for all the intimidation he offered the Forest kick takers. Bounced around like a springer spaniel puppy at walkies time, made a few silly faces, and then dived in the opposite direction for nearly every kick.

There's no shame in making a career in the lower leagues, but that's going to be his limit.
