His wariness isn’t that AI might destroy the human race, it’s that it might have someone else’s logo on it when it does.
Musk one of Open AI’s founders and put money in. He walked away in 2018 after trying but failing to take full control. He’s had a grudge against Sam Altman (who also lacks any redeemable qualities) ever since, and would enjoy the opportunity to humiliate him publicly.
Back then, the company wasn’t worth as much. Now it’s powering a stock market bubble and attracting lots of potentially dirty money, he is trying to gather up his toys and arrange them back in his pram.
It’s all a bit like watching Palarse v Chelsea - the best outcome would be both teams losing 5-0.
This @CrawleyDingo character's behaviour on all political issues is absolutely predictable.
He makes enigmatic remarks because he daren't be straightforward.
His values are too toxic and lack supporting evidence; if he was open about them he would immediately be held to account for his troubling ideologies.
So he resorts to drip feeding us vague innuendo which reflects his world view along with limp, snarky irony that he knows he cannot be made to own.
