I remember the Phantom Wreath Nicker of Hanover in 2017. Wreaths disappearing off front doors in December. Much consternation.

The funniest one was "waste", but I got it back.

I moved into my last place and there was
a large rubbish collection to be taken as well as a few old PCs and monitors that I took the opportunity to get rid off.

Always do the right thing and get a registered collector, never cheap. Leaves you with paperwork etc....

So the van turns up and he starts piling everything into the back. I go outside and start helping.

Annoyingly he starts telling me what he won't and will take which was a bit odd since we'd already agreed what the waste was.

So we've finished and I'm now pissed off I've got to find somewhere to get rid of the rest.

At which point the real waste collector turns up :lolol:

We made him unload it all into new van with the threat of ringing the police. Easiest job the real collector ever had.

I've had my glasses nicked. Only expensive because of the prescription lenses in them, not tinted so clearly not sunglasses.
You've just got to think the culprit is an arsehole as vital to the owner and practically zero value to anyone else.

I've also had a hat stolen. This is only odd because I have an unusually massive head. Really a thousand scrotes would have to come past for one of them to possibly have it fit.

The rear windscreen of Mrs P’s BMW320i

Just the rear window, expertly removed. Nothing else missing.

Had a massive row with insurance company as they were insisting she didn’t have accidental windscreen damage included in her policy, whilst we were trying hard to explain it wasn’t damaged, it was stolen.

They did pay out in the end.

A few years ago, scarified moss from the lawn. Had three bags worth up near front of my house, when on bin day, the bin men nicked it! Took a good few hours to do and it was what I used to make some really good compost
Nowadays, they occasionally won't even take the actual rubbish?! ???

An avocado toilet pan. The legend that is John Boy's Dad was replacing my 70's bathroom suite. Took the pan downstairs and left it by his van while he went back up to collect the sink. When he came back downstairs the pan had gone

Not particularly strange, but I had a parcel containing a pair of running shoes nicked from my front step a few weeks ago. I was at home but the FedEx delivery guy couldn't be arsed to ring my doorbell and just dumped it on the step in full view of a busy main road. By the time I got the delivery notification (about 2 hours later for some reason), I opened the door and it was gone.

Gawd. In Hanover in 1995 a mate and I decided to go around and pick up as many Christmas trees as we could find that had been left outside people's houses for disposal at the beginning of Jan. We thought it would be funny (and it was, briefly) to fill a mate's bedroom with them so when he got back from his ski holiday he'd feel at home among the pine trees. No wreaths were interfered with though.

Oddest thing I've had nicked, a single trainer from a bowling alley thing where they make you put on their wacky shoes. Such a pointless theft it can only have been done to be annoying/difficult.
