When i cast my mind back to the Goldstone days my dad would drive us to Hove Rec from Patcham, a brisk walk across the pitches and on the East Terrace having left the Ladies Mile at 2:15 lol
There were quite a few empty seats near us but I wasn't too bothered about the atmosphere being adversely affected, as the die hards will always be there and they are the ones who tend to be the most vocal in their support, as was amply demonstrated last night. Of course a more than creditable team performance helped too!

Same around me in WSL. They made a noise even including a few naughty Words. The regular STHs would have been shocked and calling for a steward. I rather enjoyed it plus when I got home I watched the match again and did not go to bed until one o’clock. What a night for an oldie.

Probably because all those that were there wanted to get behind the team. It's not so much the tourists that dampen the atmosphere in the PL, it's the moaning minnies.
It'll be tickets sold, but not sure the distinction amounts to much when all had explicitly bought a ticket for a single game.
ESU was only about 50% full, if that and the North end of WSL was virtually empty
It was more than that, the pre game atmosphere was better than normal
