Tonight's result and the effort put in by the players makes the Forest result/performance even harder to understand.

Hopped off the fence to IN but could quite easily climb back onto it depending on how the next three games go. We need to show togetherness and quality as a team regardless of results. That has been missing in some games.

I think the Fab in/out threads and over reactions to good and bad results are totally understandable.

We’re all a little bit unsure about how to react as in all honesty we’re carrying out a bit of an experiment that hasn’t been done before. There’s been hardly any other example of a high profile club (which we are these days) who have enjoyed recent success, taking such a punt on such a young, relatively inexperienced manager/head coach.

I’ve never gone so back and forth regarding a manager in my life and still don’t really know what to think! I’m hoping with hindsight, in years to come, we look back on this period as an obviously rocky period in the early days of a very successful period in our history under a manager learning on the job.
He’s been managing for ten years.

But nowhere near this level and for a professional team for a lot less than that, it’s completely different. He’s having to learn on the job quickly.
True but it’s used as a weapon against him. When people quote his age, they make it sound like he’s only managed for a couple of seasons.

So, togetherness for 3 games. That’ll fix it
I am not foolish enough to even consider we’ll keep that up in every game for the rest of the season! Good performances against two teams above us in the table and one at the bottom will have me Fab IN for the rest of the season. You choose whatever sarcastic route you like

If we can reach that level of performance, or close for the rest of the season, IN all the way - particularly if he doesn’t drop Rutter when he’s on a roll or play innovative one mad midfields in the trickier away trips. Hopefully he can have the players just as intense amd motivated against the less glamorous opponents going forward. A bit of luck with injuries would help too. Let’s see what sort of run we can put together.

It’s a legitimate concern.

We have so many young players that adding a young coach into the mix can make us look like an under 21 side taking on experienced professionals.

What he has done is get a reaction out of the players after last week so, for that, he deserves to get the whole season (which he was always going to get because that’s how TB rolls). But it’s absolutely fair to worry about another huge ricket as he learns top level British football.

I just can’t understand it personally. Did people really think when we hired a 32 year old Coach that he was going to be the finished article? Did people really think he wasn’t going to make mistakes? It makes no sense to me whatsoever, of course he was going to. I cannot fathom why anyone can be going ‘back and forth’ on him after 6 months. The whole point is that he is a long-term hire, and it shows a complete lack of understanding of Bloom / Barber’s strategy to constantly be thinking ‘shall we / shan’t we sack him’.

The reactionary nonsense on here from grown adults after we have won / lost football matches has been nothing short of embarrassing.

Was fence before last night and remain there. There are well documented reasons for reservations and reasons for optimism. Last night showed among other things ability to pick a suitable starting 11, make effective substitutions, play effectively for 90 minutes and to close up a match, so more, please, and let's see at the end of the season.

I know what you’re saying but we’ve been here before. A long term coach hired who couldn’t win games at home and frustrated at times with slow possession. Then the long term plan came to fruition and he buggered off.

At best we’ve got a guy who will grow with the club and stuff all the criticism down people’s throats. At worst we’ve got a guy who will get the odd win but mostly go on bad runs with the occasional thrashing. And, in the middle, we’re a YTS scheme for the next Liverpool coach.

Is it embarrassing or is it just the kind of thing you expect on a football forum full of opinions? I don’t think it’s much different to the conversation people would have in the pub post match. To be embarrassing would be to suggest that people beyond NSC take a huge amount of notice, which seems unlikely.
