If the keeper was on the pitch and not behind or even on the goal line, how did it come off the bar and hit him and then go completely over the line?

It's an own goal and would be so which ever team had taken the shot.
Thousands of such goals were accredited to players in days of yore before the cameras and joyless bores with their pedant pencils started ‘correcting’ everyone. Fabulous strike and everyone will remember Jamie not the keeper.

I quite like the bloke to be honest. I just have absolutely no idea why he’s there, and I think he’s looking around him wondering the same. Top coach, doing phenomenal work in Europe, to come to what he already knew was an absolute shit show.

He knows it, everyone knows it. Obviously he’s on retirement and millionaire money after one contract, but if this guy can’t do it I don’t know who or what can save them.

I don’t care for them, but I think I quite like everything their gaffer has said. Desperately trying to give everyone - the players, fans and owners a massive reality check about just how bad they are.
Money and the allure of the history of MUFC. Were we after him at one point?

But he didn’t say that did he, ironically! See, it cuts both ways if you’re a fun sponge!
A 'fun sponge'! It's an own goal. Saying that fact doesn't take anything away from what Donley did. Fantastic effort which is what people will remember. However, if you're a statistics type and only look at it as an own goal in years to come then, yes, fun sponge would be an apt description!

I’m with Drew on this one SarisburySeagull - it would have been a fantastic win against the millionaire club but Hereford/Newcastle is legendary - maybe you’re younger than Drew and I(apologies in advance, Drew)
I am too young but a football anorak so well aware of the Radford/Motson story etc but I just think the way football has gone financially over recent years, City are on a completely different planet to an average third division side like Orient. I would say the difference between the two clubs is now far wider than between Newcastle and Hereford at the time.

A moot point now but still, a fantastic effort from Orient and a once in a lifetime goal/moment for the player who scored for them. It did restore some of the magic of the cup in a bit of an FA Cup sceptic like myself.

Yup and will be sadly picked apart like we were. Can't see them holding on to their both Kluivert and Semenyo, especially if Iraola did leave for a big team.
Annoyingly, they are really flying and I think there is real potential for us to be whooped when the visit in a few weeks time.

It hit the underside of the bar, bounced down in front of the goal-line, then deflected in off the keepers arse. OG.

Hope this helps. x

Birmingham lead after about 45 seconds against Newcastle, which is nice
