[Albion] Sarmiento

Terrible goalkeeping for the second.

I'd love Sarmiento to do well, he seems like a great lad. I feel he may have a touch of the Knockearts about him, insofar as being able to dominate the Championship but unable to make the step up to the Premier League. Hopefully I'm proven wrong though.

Burnley have scored one goal in their last three league matches, and two in their last seven excluding the 5-0 thrashing of Plymouth (in which Jeremy featured for about 20 minutes without scoring or assisting). Not turning out to be an ideal loan for an attacker, is it?

Burnley are making all the headlines for their defensive record. They've conceded nine goals in the Championship so far, scoring just 37 in the 31 games that sees them in second place. From the little I gather, Sarmiento is doing well within those parameters.

Burnley fans - and neutrals - are bored out of their minds watching Parkerball. While I'd be pleased for Sarmiento in light of Burnley's defensive record if he were a defender, he's not, so I'm not sure how much good the loan is really doing him

I thought it was a poor decision at the time that we allowed the loan to go through given Burnley spent £9.4m on Hannibal Mejbri who plays the same position, literally 2 days beforehand.

Spot on, the two have tended to come on for each other. I - apparently correctly - predicted Mejbri would fall out of favor after his sending off against Stoke just over a month ago, but Jeremy has still only started two of the five league matches since then.

The problem is that he (and others) see the attacking midfield role as his best position, but he's been doing poorly in that position for weeks. Which is why either Hannibal (who played very well against Oxford) or the three Josh combo, Cullen-Brownhill-Laurent, have been getting the gig.

He might do better back on the wing, where Foster has been playing (when it wasn't Hannibal). But now we've signed Edwards from Sporting Lisbon, he won't get much time there.

I know they're bored, but it's getting results and, if they get promoted, might serve as a better foundation for them in the PL than Kompanyball or RussellMartinball.
The fact that they're defensive is a challenge for Sarmiento to showcase what he's got, which he needs because they'll be bigger in the PL. I don't think he'll make it with us though.
