As others have said, Athens away was just the most magnificent experience. Glorious city, the best and loudest away support I've ever see the Albion have, and the points to qualify us from the group of death with a game to go. Stood with an old mate and my dad. Even had a tear gas story (that whilst uncomfortable didn't cause any damage) to come home with. I think only a trophy would beat that.

Huddled over the radio going in and out of tune on medium wave… in an extremely noisy workplace machines running, racks rattling, people shouting - just a very still moment in my everyday chaos of work .. can’t even remember who was on 5live Alan Green? Mike Ingham? Then hearing the Hereford full time result.

Probably when we secured Europe under RDZ after Enciso's screamer v Man City.
I would have said finishing 6th that season, but in truth we should have been higher and may have even got Champions League were it not for VAR potentially robbing us of 13 points that season. It still sticks in the craw that we didn't finish at least 5th above Liverpool, which we would have fully deserved.

Marseilles at home ... late winner by Joao Pedro. Topped the group.

100% could not believe I was watching little old Brighton away in a European competition. Just incredible and to fight back from 2 nil down in such an intimidating atmosphere. Even if leaving the stadium on those hot buses is something I would never want to do again.

It was incredible, all those European games , the pre match buzz , the nights out. How lucky to get that group and Roma afterwards. Absolutely loved being in Europe. In some ways it's nice not qualifying every season as it keeps it special, hopefully we can scrape in every now and again.

Europe was just amazing - home & away. Beating Marseille at home was the culmination of that as there was a genuine belief we could make a European final. Obviously the Roma games never hit those heights, but that Marseille will stay with me for a long time.

As @Ethelwulf said that 1987/88 season was brilliant with an incredible finish at home to Bristol Rovers. Definitely the season that made me a home and away fan.
Others - Wigan (obviously), beating Mansfield 6-0 in our first game back in Brighton after two seasons in exile and pretty much all of De Zerbi's first season.
Funds dictated the only group game we could do in Europe was Amsterdam and the old mojo was definitely a 10 as we left the ground and belted out some old school Withdean era chants on the Metro back to Centraal. I'm sure people who were at Marseille and Athens will say they were better but the Dam (except for the weather) was a fantastic trip. From getting on a Eurostar full of Brighton faces from back in the day and queuing at the buffet with @Soul Finger to getting thrown out of an Irish bar with @tomfitzz and @jackalbion to the Albion Roar comedy afternoon hosted by @Fourteenth Eye , heading to a famous stadium and talking to a lunatic Ajax ultra who told us he used to "throw darts at a picture of Veltman in my man cave", beating one of Europe's elite names (albeit they were about as good as Preston North End) and then that metro trip. 10/10 for me.

RDZ after losing 5-1 at home to Everton 'you will see my team in the next game'. We win 3-0 AWAY to title chasing Arsenal. RDZ knee slides on the pitch.

Dean WIlkins free kick (I was in the South Stand) V Ipswich to get into the play offs in 1991 also seemed pretty special.

That League 1 title winning season under Poyet was special. Not only were we winning but we were doing in style.
2-2 at Anfield in 1991 (I was 10 and couldn’t believe it).
The Millwall play off games in 1991 - I was 10 (and went to the away leg) and thought we were going to get promoted to play against the likes of Liverpool.
League 2 and League 1 title wins under Adams and Taylor.
Promotion under Hughton. The end of Potter’s time when we really started to click (which coincided with Caceido’s time in the team - I feel he must have the best points per game ratio of anyone to play for us in the Premier League) and RDZ’s first season and a half.

the sense of relief, and in a strange way, achievement, collectively, was immense.
I was very thirsty after the game so we got fully hydrated on the train home. A ten I think . . .Although I don't remember much.
There have been so many ups and down in the last 45 years it's not really a simple question, or answer.
