About 2°C, half empty home areas and full of Chelsea tourists.

Going to be a lovely evening, I can see penalties.

I'm IN.

I think there will be a response from the team saturday and from the fans that are going. Promises to be a decent cup tie. Watched Chelsea last night and they were fortunate to squeak out a win.

I can feel it. So many reasons why:

You can’t lose 7-0 and not get a reaction. There will have been a lot of soul-searching done this week at Lancing.

FH will know that keeping us in the cup gives him job security- he will go for it with a strong team.

Chelsea need to make the Champions League this year, they won’t play their strongest squad.

The Amex is going to be rocking with a big away following and the hard-core home fans that actually want to be there and will support the Albion no matter what (even if it means getting home past 11pm on a Saturday night or having to queue for a train or even bump into some nasty and frightening away fans).

It would be so Brighton to win this one after last weekend.

We’ll be back to losing in the league the following Friday as Chelsea punish us for Saturday.

Into the 5th round we go, a favourable draw this time and once we cruise through that we’ll be one game from Wembley.

Very much looking forward to bouncing this thread on Sunday morning…
That’s more like it! More of this please folks.

I came here to say this. Chelsea were pretty terrible last night and have poor recent form. Both Jackson and his young striker replacement picked up injuries.

Well I'm going to nail my colours to your mast and say I agree with you and for exactly the reasons you state. If we do lose (which is possible as Chelsea are a bigger and richer club than us with arguably better players) then I'm sure it won't be for lack of effort and we will NOT be humiliated. I'll also add that I'm sure Chelsea, sub-consciously or otherwise, will be thinking "It's only Brighton, they're in disarray, we should win this comfortably".

Frankly I'm not that fussed about the league game as we're not going to get relegated and we're not qualifying for Europe, so it'll just be a free hit and the chance for some more speculation. This is our season on the line here, defeat and it'll just be navel-gazing from now until the end of the season.

Standing in the way of control
A mascot would get a reaction if they said a few buzzwords about intensity and togetherness to a squad containing Baleba and £200m of attackers, picked more than one midfielder and left the rest to the senior pros to sort out.

It is probably part of the problem that we have a good enough squad on and off the pitch to win once for every two defeats while running on fumes rather than leadership.

chelsea don’t need to play a strong squad, they just need to play palmer. they could start at team of u12s and palmer and we’d still lose
They are 15 points clear at the top of the league then and in sparkling form, I assume?

We will get whipped by Chelski in both games by a fair margin and succumb to Stains as we proudly hold 70% possession passing the ball around the backline and midfield as no one has a clue what FH style of play actually is.
If anyone does know can they inform the team rather quickly
