Here are 15 players that make up the bulk of our squad moving forward.
Their average age is just 20.

Hinshelwood 19
Tzimas 19
Yalcoure 19
Gruda 20
Minteh 20
Baleba 21
Ayari 21
Georginio 22
Verbruggen 22
Adingra 23
Pedro 23
JPvH 24
O’Riley 24
Kadıoğlu 25
Weiffer 25

And that is without including Ferguson, Buonanotte or Enciso.
Man United would die for that squad and wage bill.
We have an awful lot to be proud of.
And apparently we've just declined £65m for Mitoma.

There is no reason why we can't remain a top ten Premier League side despite the bumps in the road.

Club won't be able to cash in on that multitude of starlets unless they first start employing some grown-ups and start acting like a professional foitball club rather than a bring'n''buy sale

Yep, that's the mean.

Median = 22.

Mode = 19.

Standard deviation = 2.145

The number may be off, but the OP has a point.

Even if he's not the right man for the job, the problems aren't really anything that a change of head coach won't resolve.

FWIW, I think FH needs time and if it were my choice, I'd be inclined to give it to him (though I don't know what - if anything - is going on behind the scenes. For all I know, it could be beyond the point of no return OR there might be issues that are not down to FH at all )

Have we already decided Cashin will never play for us and will be loaned straight back out?

New batteries required. But even so 21 is still not too shoddy.

(With that kind of accounting I'd get a job with Donald Trump)
Plus, it was €65m not £ for Mitoma by all accounts.

The OP has a point, albeit a terrible aptitude for maths

All the criticism of the signings, all the moaning about the inconsistency, the lack of physicality, the lack of game management and know how. Surely all that can be put down to a very low average age (being propped up by Dunky, Veltman and Welbeck).

Now it's fair to make the argument that we should be buying older players, with more top league experience. But that should come with an admission that comes with a higher wage attached to the player and a much lower likelihood of being able to turn a profit when we sell them.

You also can't ignore the impact injuries have had on our season and having a manager, who is clearly having to learn in the toughest environment possible. Inconsistency and frustrating results surely must be priced into this season

And Alan Hansen can do one.

We are more than fine financially.
We could sign a couple of players at the top end of our pay scale especially considering Gross, Lallana and Dahoud have all gone who would have been on decent wages.

Not sure it’s the potential of the players that’s an issue.

While we are at it, if you think Fergy will score more than Welbz and JP combined, let's have some money on it (loser pays REMF). £30?

There is a lot of positive there but the one elephant in the room for me is that we haven't replaced the nouse and knowhow of Gross, Lallana and Milner (he will never play for us again I expect). Welbeck, Dunk and Veltman aren't enough to carry the inexperience of the rest and it's showing.
Our 30+ players are Welbeck, Dunk, Veltman, Webster, Steele, Milner and Solly.

If we were bubbling above the relegation zone I would disagree but 10th in the PL and economically stable really is a good place to be.
