Went to watch mile oak the other dayThe feeling of ‘losing the joy’ is not uncommon amongst EPL fans ( by which I mean proper fans of their local club). Above all is the overall match day cost but also the disconnection that inevitably comes with being in a league where the loyalty of supporters becomes a financial irrelevance.
I doubt we will lose a single match going supporter because we lost a game 7-O but I know plenty who are reluctantly going to the Amex less and less because of the transport hassles.
Going to the odd non league game reminds me of everything that I have always loved about football. I probably wouldn’t cope if my Brighton didn’t f*** up on a regular basis and getting stuffed 7-0 makes no difference to my Albion mojo, but I no longer feel, as a lifelong fan, that I or any other Albion fans like me matter to the club.
I totally understand this but I love being a fan of the club and do feel that we matter- having supported it for 52 years, especially with Tony Bloom ulimately in charge. i go to more away games now than i did 10 years ago (can luckily afford it, don't have young kids anymore) which helps i think , also go to non league sometimes for the reasons you argue (but they are obviously very differrent), and trains have never got in the way for me even though i travel from mid sussex. Even though occasionally its an arse. My group of fans that i go with - about 6-7 of a similar age / older and also their their now grown up kids - feel likewise (i think !) . Really do Love Brighton being in the Premier League and its been great over the last 8 seasons. So i think joy is not lost although i struggled at 2.45pm yesterday afternoon for a bit !!The feeling of ‘losing the joy’ is not uncommon amongst EPL fans ( by which I mean proper fans of their local club). But we picked up 2 more injuries , our manager showed little if any respect to the travelling supporters , and i just read that that the bank of England have just bid 45m euros for Facu - a player we desperately need at the moment and who never should have gone out on loan in the first place , and could well lose because Fab isn`t a fan .We lost three points
So did City, Villa, United, Brentford, Newcastle and Leicester…
We maintain 10th
United slip to 13th
See what next week brings…
Actually, it’s supposedly Chelsea and Tottenham who are interested, and who ever said Fabian didn’t rate Buonanotte? His loan was going very well for everyone involved until Ruud froze him out - he’s the only manager to have mistreated Facundo as far as I know.i just read that that the bank of England have just bid 45m euros for Facu - a player we desperately need at the moment and who never should have gone out on loan in the first place , and could well lose because Fab isn`t a fan .
I remember saying similar to a Man U friend just a few years into Withdean , i asked him if he was bored knowing they would win every week , and that supporting The Albion and not knowing what league we would be in was so much more fun and i stand by that .I see what your saying, but then, why change your expectations? I just want to stay up every year and everything else is a wonderful bonus. My mojo rarely drops as a result. Some people have said top 10 is their expectation, if so we are meeting that, but for me its more of a target than an expectation. But if your expectations have become to get in the top 6 at the start of the season, and stay there all year, winning every game against a lower table team, well we might do it occasionally but more often than not we won't. So you are frequently miserable. Just can't see how that's a fun place to be.
Sorry my poor effort at calling Chelsea the bank of EnglandActually, it’s supposedly Chelsea and Tottenham who are interested, and who ever said Fabian didn’t rate Buonanotte? He apologised to them in multiple interviews minutes after walking off the pitch where he’d been in the group of players doing likewise .our manager showed little if any respect to the travelling supporters.
Not what some on here were saying yesterdayHe apologised to them in multiple interviews minutes after walking off the pitch where he’d been in the group of players doing likewise .
I think he was very wise to not put in an appearance in front of the fans yesterday. You know exactly what would have happened. Not what some on here were saying yesterday
What do you want him to do here ?Not what some on here were saying yesterday
ResignWhat do you want him to do here ?
Spot on, if I felt like some people feel on here right now I would give it up.That'll be me. And, yes, I did have a laugh about it with a Leeds supporting friend. The irony being that they won 7-0 (biggest result in nearly 50 years) and the fact that, as much as I love the Albion, I don't let results upset me. Life has far more important things to get into a stew over. Whether Albion lose 7-0 or won 7-0 I still feel the same about their place in my life. And in the end, it's just twenty two blokes kicking a bag of air around a patch of grass. I love it, but I'm not going to let it make me unhappy. Football for me is more about the what happens off the pitch, the friendships I have made, the great days out. Places like NSC where a lot of good folk gather. Victories and success are a bonus. Defeats and absolute tonkings, never mind, it happens.
Palace doing the double over us ? Well, I'd rather they didn't. If it happensThe sun will still rise in the morning, the birds will sing, and it won't cost me my life.
There’s probably nothing in your post that’s factually accurateBut we picked up 2 more injuries , our manager showed little if any respect to the travelling supporters , and i just read that that the bank of England have just bid 45m euros for Facu - a player we desperately need at the moment and who never should have gone out on loan in the first place , and could well lose because Fab isn`t a fan .
If we’d lost 1-0 we would have still lost 3 points, the way people are going on, you’d think that we had lost 7 points! We lost three points

Probably the same bunch who call for a bigger Norff Stand every season.Collective headloss.
The worst thing about the club right now is our embarrassing fan base (at least the online portion of it
