He shook hands with all the Forest players, turned and faced us for maybe 5 seconds then walked away and down the tunnel with his assistant. No acknowledgment of the fans whatsoever… Veltman is more of a leader than Hurzeler will ever be.
Maybe he just couldn't handle the disappointment? He's young and a tad fragile? Would've been acceptable had he come over, led the players and motioned an apology. At least fans can accept that even if they vented their anger.

Brighton factually.....
He hides under his coat for most of the time like a teenager. Just sits there and watches, occasionally looking at the tv monitor.
Warren on BBC radio Sussex mentioned this, and seemed to suggest his leadership is lacking, just sits in the dug out.
i get the impression he is not a fan of FH, and allowing some of the players to go out on loan has come back to haunt us already, like Barco. He insinuated that there could be personality clashes behind the scenes, not sure how much Warren knows what we don’t, or if this has legs.

i cant sleep, im still so pissed off.

Don't get me wrong, I get as frustrated as anyone, but that was such a disaster it was good at the end that the players came over, faced the fans and showed some humility.
How was the atmosphere in the away end during the game? Was wondering whether it was one of those games where it goes full circle and is so bad that the fans start singing relentlessly in the face of adversity

Van Hecke also looks like he’s had enough there and is trudging away.
Van Hecke was first over and raised his hands as if to say sorry. It was a very weird scenario as both parties were staring at each other for a long time , much longer than usual at end of game.

Yes, it was very much like that. Once it got past three nill the mood and singing changed to gallows’ humour and was probably the best bit of the whole game.

Not great after the 3rd, then gallows humour after the 5th, with sarcastic ole of our players passing the ball, some singing agreement with the Forest fans that we “should have watched on the telly”, “we had a shot…” etc etc. A quite funny “you’ve seen the Albion” towards the end.

I was near the front and because so many of the Forest songs are the same as ours sometimes it was hard to tell if the words sung from behind were going to be about one of their players or one of ours for the first few minutes, but after that it was obvious it was mostly Forest.

Don't think anyone was applauding the performance.
It was a weird one.

I was applauding them - and chanted Albion at them rather than for them.
It was pretty intense, and I appreciated them coming over and staying for as long as they did.

it meant a lot. I thought I saw Huerzeler hidng at the back behind the players, before turning back, but others have said he turned back at the half way line.
If so, then f*** him.

Van Hecke was one of the first to come to us. Held his hands up in apology.
He had done enough.

Joel, O'Riley, Gomez and Verbruggen, came over to give their shrts/gloves to the fans.
All very apologetic and contrite.

Its at times like this that he shows his immaturity… For me personally, I’m not bothered if he comes over or not… having said that, the gesture might have helped.

Player manager 2025/26, great early spot .

Not defending Fabian, because obviously the right thing to do would've been to acknowledge and apologise in front of the away end, but he rarely makes a presence of himself at away games whether we've won or lost
