I found this .... it's some evidence

Crystal Palace Football Club (CPFC) went into administration twice, in 1999 and 2010, due to financial difficulties. In 2010, the CPFC 2010 consortium saved the club from liquidation.

What happened?
  • In June 2010, the CPFC 2010 consortium led by Steve Parish bought the club and Selhurst Park from Lloyds Bank.

  • The consortium was made up of four Palace fans: Parish, Stephen Browett, Martin Long, and Jeremy Hosking.

  • The consortium negotiated a £3.5 million deal to buy Selhurst Park.

  • The consortium's efforts were aided by protests from fans outside Lloyds Bank and Selhurst Park.

What was the outcome?

  • The consortium saved the club from liquidation and secured ownership of the training ground and Selhurst Park.
  • The club was able to rebuild and enter the 2010/11 season.

If we are all honest with ourselves, the aim of any club in the Premier League is to stay there. Even the some of the so called Big Six are not immune to flirting with relegation, just take a look at Man Utd and Spurs this season. Are they in actual danger of relegation-probably not, but should Ipswich and Wolves suddenly get the bit of luck that their performances deserve and a few results go their way it would suddenly be a lot closer than comfort would like

We even have the relegation tracker, that many of us look to after every game, and like it or not the first (but not only) target will always be 40 points. All of us are just a bad run of results, bad managerial appointment from being in the mix at the bottom

Like it or not, Palace have been in the prem longer than us, and for the majority of the time we have been here have been above us come the seasons end. The difference between the clubs on field performance is not as far apart as some here like to think, and while we do have a European finish to boast , that so far is a once only thing, and Palace are steadily getting closer to us this season after a dreadful start

What are our actual realistic goals- top 4 on a regular basis is not really viable-TB simply doesnt have the money. So we can aim to be the best of the rest-but plenty of other clubs have more resources than us, Villa, Newcastle, for example. A good cup run, and with a bit of luck a final , but just take a look at who has won the FA and League Cups over the past 15 years to see how often it isn't the top few clubs

We are all basically trying to survive and compete on an uneven basis- and I say our big success (and Palace's) is that we are still here, still beating the big boys reasonably regularly and that is the point of us , and Palace, and Brentford .
Sometimes I think our only purpose in this league is to piss off the 'big' clubs. On that metric, I'd say we have been a roaring success in recent years.

Thirty-one of the past 33 domestic cups have been won by the same five teams.

I think that statistic says it all.
I don't won't to see Bournemouth, Brentford or Forest win a cup before us, but I would prefer them to win something rather than City, United, Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea.

(I can't bring myself to saying I would prefer Palace 2010 to crash the party though)

If you had to bet your house on which club would be in a better place in five years time, where would you place your chip?
I would have made that bet in 2013 before they beat us in the play offs and spent 4 years in the Prem before we caught up. Even during the Prem years we've only finished above them twice. Yes we've built a better squad, have facillities, and made more money but it really doesnt take much to take the next step.

They are only a decent investor away or a couple of transfer windows from being able to compete around Europe especially with the newly more competitive Prem, such as us, Bournemouth, Forest, Fulham etc. In fact if it wasnt for a bad start they'd be in and around that pack now with recent form.

Facilities wise yes Selhurst is a dump but they have a very good academy and training facility in Beckenham now.

I hate them and long for a day we can justifiably laud it over them but we really arent that much further ahead at this point in time despite what you'd be led to believe reading this thread.

I won’t make the cheap dig about todays result, as we all have bad days at the office.

But apart from the Stadium ( hopefully be rectified)and 7 points ( a narrowing) I think our squad is just as good as yours and would argue the palace manager is the better one. But let’s wait till the end of the season before lauding over anyone.

Our squad depth is definitely ahead and a lot more valuable right when you look even at what we have out on loan, but your manager is undoubtedly miles better.

Squad depth or bloated squad, sometimes more isn’t better.

Glasner has said he prefers a smaller squad and not so much chopping and changing.

I personally believe we have at the moment a better Keeper, a better defence and a better centre forward, our midfield is hampered by never ending injuries, which isn’t helped by the size of squad, but I trust the manager on that.

starting 11 is pretty close ( you edge it) but our squad depth is better.

You definitely have the better manager
