Isn't it strange, from by the poll (currently 55% yes) and some comments on here, there may be some disappointed Albion fans if that turns out to be the case.
I don't think that's the case. The question is would you take the £90m, as in if you were Tony Bloom would you take £90m for Mitoma. Well yes I would. We are not going to get more than that, ever. But that's very different from saying do you want to sell him. I'd like all our great players to stay. Imagine if we had a midfield of Caceido, Mac Allister and Baleba!

For all we know the massive Summer splurge on players and plans for this window are linked, let’s face it we all trust TB and PB don’t we?

Really hope he stays but £90m is just daft money. No idea where his head is at obviously but would sense he’s perhaps less likely to want this than many other players perhaps. Smart move by the Saudis though potentially - instantly hugely increases the interest in their mickey mouse league in Japan.
Which is the main reason those ****s want to do it.

The question was "would you accept £90m?"

Not "do you want to get rid of Mitoma?"

Some f***ing sense people on here, too busy getting on their high horse to deal with basic literacy.
For me it depends who is offering the £90 million, and I mean that in terms of doing business with and selling one of prized assets to country with such a human rights record… it’s clearly a no for the club, and doubtful in the extreme that Karou would agitate for a move there… I suspect it’s not about literacy at all, but more about humanity… perhaps yours is the highest horse 🐴 of them all.

I have been very interested in how divisive this seems to have been.

Whilst I accept that from a business / financial viewpoint, £90M is a ridiculous amount of money for Mitoma, when I was a young lad on the terraces at the Goldstone, Priestfield etc, I wasn't dreaming about getting the big bucks for players.

The comparison with Knocky is a fair one, in that Mitoma is one of the very very few players that we have ever had that that gets me (and others) out of our seat, that is genuinely exciting to watch, has brought many, many new fans to the club and quite frankly is priceless to this old fool.

The thought that anyone would want to sell him a handful of days before the end of this window to the Saudis for a quick buck genuinely makes me question why certain people support us

I voted no.

But 90M is serious money. Unlikely to get that again. I want to see the club push a European place, but the pessimist inside me says that’s unlikely. In that scenario 90M now with Adringa / March starting is favourable as it won’t change us competing for the upper end of mid table.
We should be sitting comfortably in the Euro spots with this squad of ours especially with Man Utd & Spurs out of the picture.

Yeah he’s not that good. We could buy a decent replacement for half that money.

You see, I think he is that good. He’s that good that there’s always at least two oppo players on him, creating space for others.

We might not have seen as many moments of individual brilliance from him as you’d like, but that’s because opponents have learnt and know they have to shut him down. He still manages goals and assists despite their close attentions. If the rest of the squad were Mitoma quality we’d win the league.

You’re absolutely entitled to your opinion, but I think you’d notice in absence what Mitoma has been consistently bringing to the team, and I suspect there’d be complaints.

Clearly that's not what I was responding to, rather than those saying "I can't believe so many people want to get rid of Mitoma!" It's perfectly reasonable to want to keep him, but also think that £90m is an acceptable offer, given what we could do with that money.

The issue that it comes from Saudi, again, is a different question to the one asked. Straw man argument.

It might all be moot if he doesn't want to go anyway.

I suspect the latter line is all that matters… if (and it remains to be confirmed) he chooses to turn down the land of milk and honey … he’ll go up 📈 even more in my estimation as a bloke plain and simple.

I say, if we’re lucky enough to see him the stripes beyond the 3rd Feb that we show him how much he means to us from the stands and repay his loyalty with an ovation… sending a message that not everybody is for ‘sale.’

Sure, we may very well lose him in the summer but I doubt it’ll be to a Saudi club.

I tend to agree, but the reason it's divisive here, I think, is the theoretical 90m probably sits at the tipping point where if he is going, at least we have decent bunce for player churn to continue. I'd rather he stayed of course, but at some point Tony's mythical number may or may not reached. I am repeating the "remember where we were" mantra again, but I still find it a bit boggling that these days we are able to bat away bids of this size.
