Just finished watching Breakthrough, a Swedish crime drama based on a real life double murder. Very, very good. Unusually for us, we saw double episodes, it was so fascinating
You might also like another Swedish drama, "A Nearly Normal Family" which I thought was very good.

"Boy Swallows Universe" is good.

It has some elements of Stranger Things but without the fantasy monsters and with more adult themes.

Like Stranger Things it's set in the 80s, but in Australia so even more mullet haircuts. It also has the children fighting against evil adults theme.. but instead of the fantasy monsters the monsters are more in human form and it deals with more realistic hard hitting subject matter but with a light hearted, humourous touch.....

Watched the new The Killer's Game yesterday - just gone on to Netflix, starring Dave Bautista, Sofia Boutella, Ben Kingsley et al - it's the story of a top hitman who gets a devastating diagnosis from his doctor, and decides to end things quickly by having a contract put on his head. Those after the bounty then start targeting his girlfriend so then has to fight back to protect her. Think John Wick with a LOT more blood, and equivalent acting. It was a fun, brainless watch, but won't be troubling any of the awards ceremonies...If you like the Wick films, I think you'll potentially enjoy this one.

American Primevil wasn't terrible.... decent effort, good production..... short 6 ep series... I guess maybe a pilot series.
I watched the first 2 episodes last night. Bleak, brutal, but really good, I thought.
After reading books about the Wild West by Dee Brown, it strikes me as pretty accurate compared to all the others before it.

Just started on Black Doves recently.. bit gory for me with some ridiculous plot holes but strangely fascinating. Ben Wishall puts in a sterling performance as a downbeat assassin who everybody seems to know, he's come a long way since Paddington...... It's a bit Jason Bourne with British accents.
Finished this on Sunday. I thought it was excellent and had a really good cast.

Watching Night Agent 2 at the moment. It's pretty awful - an absolute mess but have invested too much time to stop watching it now.

I saw one review that said "Watch Night Agent 1 and forget Night Agent 2 exists" think that sums it up well.

Watched a film called N24. A true story about a Norwegian partisan during WW2. Subtitles with a sad twist at the end.

I thought Black Doves was f***ing stupid.
Indeed it was. wife of senior Government minister is an assassin/Spy with Glocks hidden all around the house disapears for hours on end and comes home covered in blood.... Met Police reduced to a handfull of officers standing " guard " outside no. 10 or buildings while drug dealers/CIA/Chinese agents/ Serious Crime Gangs all blow lumps out of each other. You have an assassin who seems known to everyone where ever he goes yet is still alive... I could go on !
