Champions League: Will Premier League get extra spot for next season?
Why the Premier League is likely to earn an extra Champions League spot - and how there could be seven English clubs in next year's competition.www.bbc.co.ukWe are top of the coefficient table to get the extra spot in the UCL. That would be 5 plus 1 in the Europa and 1 in the Conference. How Premier League clubs qualify for European competitions
A breakdown of how Premier League clubs can qualify for the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference Leaguewww.premierleague.com
But wait, it gets better.
FA Cup winners go into the Europa, but if it's a top 5 team then that frees up a 2nd spot in the league. This would be spots 6 & 7 now for the UEL.
League Cup winners go into the Conference, unless they too are in the UCL (3 of the 4 semi finalists are top 4), thus spot 8 could be in the Conference.
It's still all to play for!

I think the absolute maximum from one country is 8, at least it was last season. So, it could be 9?
It won’t be a bad season if we hit 50pts given the inexperience of the manger and a large chunk of the squad + injuries. No one ever chases when we lose, but here is the somewhat late update. It's not good news. We are woeful at beating teams like Everton at home. Who knew?
Now 8 over relegation, 2 behind Europe. Not a disaster but frustrating.

I don't know if we want Conference League. Fun for the fans, is it exciting for the players to make them want to come/ stay? Not sure. And it would cripple our league form with all the extra games.
God this is the most entitled I've ever been ss a Brighton fan, shoot me now
Right? Moreover, the kind of players we recruit will see it as legitimate European football - unlike, say, your average Big Six target - so it could well make the difference in our pursuit of certain targets.Who doesn't want a trip to Shamrock Rovers, The New Saints F.C and Dinamo Minsk? I would LOVE it.
Absolutely, as a fan I'd love it. Don't think it will make much difference to the players though and would make it harder to get Europa League the year after, so maybe a net negative in terms of attracting players?Who doesn't want a trip to Shamrock Rovers, The New Saints F.C and Dinamo Minsk? I mean, winning the Conference League would secure us a place in the Europa League the following season, so if anything, it offers a third option for Europa League qualification after an FA Cup triumph and a high enough league finish. English clubs tend to advance deep into the Conference League so we would have a strong chance of winning the lot.Don't think it will make much difference to the players though and would make it harder to get Europa League the year after, so maybe a net negative in terms of attracting players?
Yes, because we have a wonderful record against so-called "weaker" teams coming to the Amex with a low block. Which could be every Conference League match.I mean, winning the Conference League would secure us a place in the Europa League the following season, so if anything, it offers a third option for Europa League qualification after an FA Cup triumph and a high enough league finish. Fair enough, let's not bother thenYes, because we have a wonderful record against so-called "weaker" teams coming to the Amex with a low block. Which could be every Conference League match.
I would suggest that English Premier League standard low block is probably a little harder to break down than Albanian First Division low block and even we might manage a few goals in that competitionYes, because we have a wonderful record against so-called "weaker" teams coming to the Amex with a low block.
