Maybe he's injured, just like the rest of them!

BN1, in GOSBTS
Might be fixtures but have heard a couple of interviews with FH, where he says how Gomez is learning English (and by the sound of it, potentially doing an accelerated learning course). As he's come from Miami, I was surprised he doesn't really speak English...

(unless he speaks American and they want to get him speaking properly - no "aluminum" or "trash cans"!)

Have you ever been to Miami? 😀 The staff in the Apple store who speak English wear a badge to signify.

On NSC for over two decades...
I remember the days when you signed a new player. They were on the bench next match, maybe get a few minutes at the end. Then starting second match onwards. Times have changed
I remember Mark Barham played a game (either cup or league) for us as a triallst before he put pen to paper on a deal.

That would never happen now.

Yeah, I'm sure Alex Dawson was singed at last minute, started at 3pm on Saturday and was sent off at 3:05.
He was an absolute brute remember him very well. The obligatory broken nose spread across his face too.

Apart from he fact I liked him, has there been a better poster since "Alex Dawson " on here with his wealth of info and encouragement in the fight against cancer since..?

Miami is about 70% Spanish-speaking in my experience……….
Probably because it was built by using South/Central American Cocaine profits!

I've lived and worked in Miami, and although it is now known for South American drug traffic, it first began to grow because it stayed warm when the rest of the country froze and so local landowner Julia Tuttle was able to persuade railway tycoon William Flagler to extend his line south and tourist traffic began. Both have important thoroughfares named after them, but in a Miami Herald poll of the most important people in South Florida history they both finished behind the man who invented air conditioning, without whom ...

The Mafia took an interest in the 1950s, as they did in Las Vegas, but the demographic really changed after the 1959 Cuban revolution, when thousands of people fled the new Castro regime. After that it became the place where rich Latin Americans kept their money, and I fear some of them made it illegally. So yes, it would be possible to live your life in parts of Miami without hearing much English, but suburban areas were just like those of any big US city when I was there.

That was my Hove Grammar School classmate Nigel Beal, formerly of WSU. He fought it with good humour but it got him in the end. Sadly he never got to see us play in the Premier League but friends and family remember him with every Amex visit.
