Did Titanic deserve 11 oscars ? I did think it was an excellent film though

Certainly not a bad film.

I don’t get the fuss over James Cameron’s latter day output though.

The Avatar films are bafflingly popular.

Only my opinion of course but I think they are derivative crap.

I understand I am very much in the minority.

Titanic was a far better film than anyone could have thought imo. Avatar was ok but this bloke did T1, T2 and Aliens all immense

As an aside, have you visited the Titanic museum at the H&W district in Belfast?

I went there while visiting family a few years ago. Probably the best museum I have ever been to.

I highly recommend. James Cameron has some input and you can watch his 3D dive film of the wreck explorations . 👍

I'm glad that I made the effort to go and see 'Avatar: The Way Of Water' at the cinema so that I could form an opinion based on how it was meant to be seen.

The third one is due out at the end of the year.

....and there's supposedly 2 more after that.

Good grief.

much better is ...

I like both films, but can't believe American Beauty took Best Picture over The Matrix (the latter did win some Oscars, but was better than all five nominations in the Best Picture category: Cider House Rules, Green Mile, Sixth Sense and The Insider)

Never saw it. Went twice and both times, in the pub beforehand, my then girlfriend, now wife, after having a couple, balked at sitting that long in the pictures without being able to smoke. She'd given up smoking by the time she got to see it on telly and I ducked out, having never been interested in the first place. I'd seen 'A Night to Remember' you see, so I knew how it ended.

Probably been mentioned but how Crash won the Best Picture Oscar in the 2006 awards ill never know. Not a bad movie per se but absolutely bang average.

Ghandi is a good film but not a great film.

Had it featured a police chase with Ghandi on a BMX, then yes, it would have been a great film.
