Yes but presumably that doesn't happen to you 5 or 6 times a season?
Fair enough point but I've missed two home games this season, one through illness and one through having to travel to The Netherlands to cover for someone. That was Palace and I listed my ticket on the way to Gatwick on the Sunday morning. Are three more of those likely? No, of course not. But then I made every home game the season before.

It also means that if you are in a 50/50 situation where you are trying to make arrangements work and really want to come and support the team you'll have to come down on the side of listing your ticket the day before rather than pushing it an extra day.

I can definitely see this as being a problem for parents of young children BTW.

Health reasons can. I never know from one day to the next, if I am going to have a good day or a bad day.
Not looking for sympathy, it's just life.

We listed our tickets for one particular game, about 2 hours before kick off. They still sold, and my neighbour at the Amex, told us it was a lovely Japanese couple.

Yeah I get that.

There is no reason you should be penalised if you list it on the day of the game and it sells.

Just been posted on the website - no mention of the current 25% personal attendance requirement so maybe it's been simplified

Utilising your Season Ticket
From 2025/26 we are asking season ticket holders to use their ticket for 75% of matches during the season.
This means you can attend, list for resale, share or upgrade your ticket but you cannot leave your seat empty for five or more matches.
If you do, you may not be able to renew for 2026/27 and we may list your seat on the ticket exchange.
To count towards 75% usage, tickets must be listed on the ticket exchange by 2pm on the day before the match.
Remember, you can share your ticket with a MyAlbion+ member with one free use per season or £20 for unlimited sharing.
By making these changes we will make sure that everyone gets the chance of enjoying the thrill of a Premier League matchday at the Amex.

More relevant to me and my mates is the changes to senior concessions - which we were looking forward to

5 missed games doesn’t automatically mean your ticket is cancelled, just that it could be. I expect there will be some consideration of context before the club made a final decision.

I, on the other hand, suspect they’ll run an automated cancel job based solely on attendance data and then make you explain yourself to a chat bot.

No, sorry, the highlighted part is absolute bollocks.

The only times I've not gone to home games have been through sickness, having last minute child or pet care issues or having to work at short notice. On no occasion would I have met that clause because each time it was a last minute issue.

I'm fully behind having a full stadium but not counting if you list your ticket on the morning of the game? Nonsense.
Agree.........they've ballsed up with that bit.

So they are encouraging fans who are ill on the day of the game attending as they missed the 2pm day before deadline, traveling in a confined space on a train or bus infecting many other fans just to get more £££££££££

And kids and OAP's are not welcome anymore as they don't pay enough
I get the age going up to align with the governments pension age, but reducing the discount to 20% is poor in my opinion.

I dare say the two are connected. The people whose health is a bit dicky and who don't know until the morning whether they will be fit to travel on the day, are more likely to be pensioners paying a lower rate. Prime candidates to be replaced by younger, fitter supporters.

Indeed. But I'm sure it's been looked at and agreed by our robust FAB. And let's definitely not protest it happening at other clubs......

I’ve not said anything on this topic, but a couple of points if I may.

The 2pm deadline thing is obviously to encourage people to act well in advance if they can. I’ve missed two games this season and both went on the Exchange after 2pm the day before. Fortunately both sold. Thing is, I knew several days in advance that I couldn’t attend but apathy stopped me from listing my seat earlier. In future, I’ll make sure I do so much further in advance.

Yes, it’s possible that through long-term illness or constant family issues, you may frequently have to make a last-minute decision not to attend. But, and I’m truly sorry if this sounds harsh, if you’re in that position of constant uncertainty about being able to attend, then perhaps a ST isn’t the best option for you? Just get a membership and buy tickets on a one-off basis the few matches you can get to.

I think there’s too much hysteria about this topic here. I understand the club's position. At the Arsenal game I spoke to the guy next to me and was staggered to learn that it was £75 to buy as a one-off when as a wrinkly old STH, it cost me just £31. Think about it. Why would the club willingly sacrifice that additional seat revenue, not to mention the likelihood that occasional visitors are more likely to buy a programme and merchandise from the club shop?

What we’re being asked to do is not that onerous. If I understand it correctly, all we’re being asked to do is to attend 5 games throughout the season. And for matches we can’t get to, to list our seats on the Exchange a day in advance.

Maybe it’s the (retired) businessperson in me but this all makes commercial sense to me. People are right to bemoan that this wouldn’t have happened back in the day but the world has changed, like it or not. If you’re going to compare us now with the casual, friendly old days, you also have to factor in the difference between a typical Premier League experience, and what it was like at the Withdean or GG. We live in a staggeringly different football world. There are many things I miss about simpler times but I can still get those primitive thrills down at Eastbourne Town (and I do, a few times a season).

I’m sure the club could sharpen up its communications, and be a bit more reassuring to those who feel vulnerable to these changes. But IMO, the proposed changes in policy are not unreasonable for the great majority of STHs.

well, that is very clear and clarifies the situation. I'm sure some will find cause to complain, but it is clear, and I think reasonable. There are bound to be a few issues when dealing with 26 000 season tickets and a myriad of different personal circumstances, but clarity and communication from the club was asked for and that is what we have. Whether individuals agree with the policy or not, there is now at least certainty on the clubs position going into next season and beyond

Presumably with all those extra tickets available next season they won't be interested in selling any at concession prices so will only be sold at 18-66 prices

And the rule about only becoming sellable once a game is sold out would change

'Falling ill' on the day of a match six times a season (a third of home matches) would be very unlucky...

Kids and OAP’s have less purchasing power. They won’t spend much in the new Fans Zone and don’t matter.

I think we need to explain this in more detail, my missus is a migraine sufferer. She can go from one minute not having them. Then all of sudden it can hit her, on a day of a game. By then she might of missed the deadline for the ticket exchange, so there has to be more clarity to this.

Like Arsenal at home this season, where she didn't feel 100% and she tried to get herself better but the inevitable happened and she missed the game, but by then she missed the ticket exchange deadline. Then got one of those dreaded emails!

Have you tried reaching out to the club supporter services to discuss your wife’s specific circumstances?
