So good it’s got two threads

I'm amazed there's not a much older thread. Mitoma's first touch is an absolute marvel.

He treats the ball as carefully as a snooker player treats the cue ball. Except he does it when it’s coming at him at tremendous pace, over his shoulder and having been dispatched from another postal district. Not sure I’ve ever seen anything quite like it. He’s a wizard.

Three if you include the magnificent, mercurial Mitoma one.

That first touch to take the ball in his stride before the first goal assist was sublime.

The hunger he showed to get to the ball at the far post with a defender all over him was superb.

28 in May. Summer feels like the peak moment for a big move. Perhaps the injury last season derailed that. I’d be delighted if he stayed here until his 30s. Such a joy to watch and such a great kid.
Can't see how he stays. Would be a great signing for anyone in the league. Even Liverpool. And will be very relatively cheap because of age and contract length

That first touch for the first goal may be the best I have ever seen.

Amazing to take it so well without breaking stride.

If he's going to go, it'll be this summer in my opinion due to age. If we keep him this summer I can't imagine many clubs after that coming in with a mega bucks offer for 29 year old.
Presumably he'll want to return to Japan and play for a few years before retirement, so maybe we can keep him until that point.

Can only hope that he gets injured at the end of the season. Because if you're man u , spurs , arsenal etc he's about as no brainer signing as it gets in the premier league.

Amazing that no commentators / analysis experts on the tele picked up on it - as far as I heard anyway. It was just a "simple goal".

To control a ball coming over your head, kicked from the other half of the pitch as you are sprinting and without breaking stride - quite astonishing. And yet none of the "experts" noticed.
