Anyone else spot veltman’s reaction when we scored the second goal? Reminding the ref about the foul on Ayari my Ugarte to ensure he was booked after ref played great advantage. Tremendous.
Rushing in to stop Solly from strangling that United player as well. And constantly directing Bart where to play the ball.
Think I saw him managing more than playing (Minteh had it covered) today.

He won’t meet me. I’ll be at forest away and asking about.

He’s been dark arting a lot recently, more than usual. Today was daft, no need to do it. I wonder if he’s starting to believe his own hype?

Maybe the title of this thread should have been "No Veltman, no penalty".
Indeed. We’d already have been 3-0 down and they wouldn’t have needed to shove our player in the box.

No I think it’s more of an age and fitness thing. You’ve got to adapt as you get older as a defender against rapid, 20 something forwards and it’s generally worked for him.

Massive f*** up today though that cost us a point.

100% penalty, watched it over and over…the only thing you could say is the players leg whilst running pushes his arm but that’s a long shot really the movement of the arm at contact is independent. Just Veltman being Veltman and trying to make it look like he was pushed into the ball.

To be honest he gets away with murder every match and we all love him for it 😊… and in true football fan style if it was anyone from another team we’d all be screaming the house down!

Well, excuse my directness, as I have more important things to do with my time than get embroiled in debating the intricacies of the matter, but that's a load of bollocks.
Interestingly, I think your post is a load of bollocks.

Veltman was our worst player today from the starters, and was lucky to stay on as long as he did, particularly when Lamptey was somehow pulled before him. He offered absolutely nothing going forward, often causing moves to break down and slowing play down at every possible opportunity. He misread the flight, somehow, of four different headers. Lost the ball on numerous occasions. Gave away two stupid free kicks. Misplaced two easy passes that would’ve had a Brighton player running into space. Had to have Gruda covering his backside the whole of the first half as he was out of position so often. And then gave away a penalty that lost us the game rather than just playing bloody football and clearing it. It wasn’t so much that he had a bit of a poor game, it’s that he was absolutely abysmal from start to finish.

Embarrassing from Veltman.

Master of the dark arts you might say but quite clearly picked up by the match officials.

Really poor today and the right back position is an area we desperately need to improve.

Lamptey and Veltman are not the answer.
