I think that's a very astute observation. PBOBE talks a lot about the club's values. You can see how they shape the entirety of BHAFC, at alI age groups, men's and women's teams, staff, how the club treats its fans, etc, etc. I can't imagine what Chelsea's values might be....but they have been shaped for many years by only one thing - money. It'll take a long time to change that (even if they wanted to).
Chelsea know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

Sounds like the Chelsea lot have been targeting his family with abuse.

I don’t wish to sound heartless but I have no sympathy.

PW’s salary level is designed to compensate the fact that a sizable minority of Chelsea fans are a bunch of utter c***s. He can buy his family some holidays and new cars to compensate.

And in reference to that tweet. No. They are not better than that.

Sorry but that's a terrible view to take. I can't stand him or any of that lot that made the money move but no one is compensated to accept abuse to their families from dickheads.

What a ridiculous take. And yes, you do sound heartless. Money is irrelevant if people are threatening your wife and kids.

We aren't Chelsea fans, so stop behaving like one

Plenty of ‘people’ with bags of money have committed suicide mate.
A friends daughter has £2.4m in her bank a single mother and suffers from major depression he’s always in fear of that phone call.

I have plenty! What the cock has anything he has done (I don't why they are going after other people) at Chelsea got to do with his wife or son?

If someone went after a member of my family for something I had (or even hadn't) done, I would be absolutely fuming. It's a coward's way out that not just the acquisition of some materialistic gifts is going to solve. I can't stand Elon Musk or Donald Trump (or Jeremy Clarkson), but there is NO WAY I would go to the effort of seeking out their family and send them abuse via social media (nor would I do it in real life, I should add).

The people who do that are absolute berks.

So if you get a wage raise you're perfectly fine if a random bunch of people from your city send threats to your children? Because you can buy a new car? Am I understanding it correct?

No.

It’s not really about the wage rise but he did have a perfectly good job at a club where the fans don’t threaten club employees’ families.

It’s about working at Chelsea football club. He should expect that sort of treatment from their fans. It’s par for the course there.

You’ve spun it to sound like I’m condoning it. I’m absolutely not. The behaviour of the Chelsea fans is disgusting.

My point is that if you choose to walk out of a decent family club to one with a toxic fanbase where this sort of abuse is highly likely, it follows that your motivation in doing so is financially driven.

He joined Chelsea football club. Choose to swim in a tank of piranhas and you might get bitten.

He could just leave the club?

The reality is, that’s what you get at Chelsea. Of course it’s deplorable and unacceptable, I’d be outraged if Brighton fans did the same thing but we don’t. He chose to move to that club. He didn’t have to.

Oh, well that's OK then. Let's sit by and watch as people abuse his rich wife and children, then. It'll be OK because he can buy them some expensive stuff to make them feel all better.

Yes, HE joined Chelsea. PAUL WINSTANLEY took a job at the football club. Not his wife (as far as I know). And not his son (as far as I know). Why should THEY get the abuse?

Do you also accuse females of “asking for it”? Because this the basis of your argument?

What do you mean ‘let’s sit by’?

I have much more important things to worrying about rather someone who walked out on our football club and then finding out what some Chelsea fans are actually like!

This faux outrage is NSC at its worst. Social Media threats can generally be taken with a bit of salt. Have you ever had someone knock at your door and make a genuine threat to you and your family, I’d say that’s a different order of nastiness and fear completely.

I’m not say they should. They should not but I’m not wasting my sympathy on PW. It’s his problem, not mine.

Horrible club and fans. Though, I'm not 100% sure what he's done to piss them off quite so much - many of his player decisions are surely a reflection of the direction those above him want to take. And, if he hated it, he wouldn't have encouraged Sam Jewell to jump ship and join him.
