Not going very well for Dortmund is it? Tenth in the table, albeit only three points off the European places, one win in seven in the league (and three defeats on the bounce, including 4-2 away at bottom of the table Kiel), knocked out of the DFB Pokal in the second round. Sahin has to go surely.
Doesn't sound that dissimilar to another club we know well.

Why would Sahin have to go and one win 9 FH doesn’t?
Just maybe they are choosing to back their new manager to?

Might I suggest that Dortmund fans have slightly higher expectations of their club than us

For the record, we are still in the cup and have lost four all season, compared with Dortmund’s seven defeats. We haven’t been beaten by relegation sides, either, which Dortmund have.

God forbid we lose three on the bounce under Fabian, the way you’ve taken to him so far I expect you’d end up in hospital @Justice

I think Dortmund fans should respond by agreeing to drive Pascal to the airport themselves and send him back to where they got him from

Because they're expected to be top 3 and we're not?
Its not massively difficult to understand the difference.

Probably because they play in front of 81,000 fans at home, and their record of league finishes starting from last season going back is:

(currently 10th), 5th, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 2nd, 2nd, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 7th, 2nd, 2nd, 1st, 1st

In that period, they’ve won the German cup 3 times, the Supercup 3 times, and just last season were Champions League finalists.

Sahin’s record is P: 25, W: 12, D: 4, L: 9 and they are on course so far for their worst finish in 15 years, and second worst in 25 years. And they already crashed out of the cup in the second round, so Europe looking very unlikely for next season.

Hürzeler, on the other hand, is in a higher league position so far than last season’s finish, with a similar (but marginally worse) PPG record than Sahin, but having lost fewer games. The difference being that Brighton have had two top half finishes in the Premier League - ever. We’ve been in Europe once, and have never won any competition of note.

The expectations are completely different.

Add on top of that, the PL is the wealthiest, toughest and most evenly competitive league in world football, and the gulf in finances between the teams is far slimmer than the Bundesliga.

Sahin is underachieving, Hürzeler isn’t.

I would argue multiple Bundesliga-winners and previous Champions League finalists Dortmund have a higher level of expectation than we do

Sorry I disagree, they most certainly do not have higher expectations than @Justice :lolol:

Yes that would be a sound career move. He'd only have to play an hour for us and we'd have a suitable replacement waiting. No 90 minute stamina challenges. There's a space waiting right for him right next to Baleba who he could school with his midfield know how and what a player we would have then!

If you consider a contentious VAR decision being the difference between getting beat by currently the worst side in PL history at home and throwing away the most points from winning positions in the league ‘good’ then I suppose you have a point.

I don’t, but a PL season is 38 matches long, so I’m not about to wet the bed over one disappointing result.

Oh, and a reminder that we drew at home against both Sheffield Utd and Burnley last season - this was before De Zerbi mentally checked out - so the Southampton draw is hardly grounds for this magnitude of headloss.
