Looks like your scenario has been ignored. I wonder if the police could prevent this kick off time with this very scenario a possibility. 5,000 Chelsea fans who have been drinking all day who's team has just lost on penalties, being asked to stay behind for 30 minutes and ultimately guarantee no way to get home for them!
but 4900 will be ok making it back to Shoreham, Lancing, Worthing, Haywards Heath, Seaford, Polegate........ I look forward to the chant "We support our local team"

Police will have already agreed it

I imagine the Police will already have been consulted and agreed. Presumably if they raised an objection, it wouldn't happen.

Given the structure of the competition this season, it's a ludicrous time for a ground so heavily reliant on public transport to be hosting a game.

Just IMO, of course.

Yep - there's no way the kick-off time is announced without police buy-in.

It's 2 p.m. my time. With my schedule it's always rather hit or miss. Most of the time I get lucky.

I believe the Oakland Athletics (A's) hat says it all (in his pic). The A's colors are green & yellow, next season the A's are leaving their extremely aged and damaged ballpark in Oakland because they thought Las Vegas would build them a ballpark with government funds much like the Raiders NFL team that moved from Oakland to Las Vegas.

  • The Nevada Supreme Court ruled against a proposed ballot initiative that would have put public funding for the stadium up for a vote

The stadium is being built but without much of the public funding. Here are details about the Las Vegas stadium:

  • The stadium will be located on the former site of the Tropicana Las Vegas

  • The stadium will have a capacity of 30,000 seats, with standing room for up to 33,000

  • The stadium will be partially retractable

  • The stadium will include underseat cooling

  • The stadium will be surrounded by a new Bally's Las Vegas resort

  • The stadium will cost an estimated $1.75 billion
Timeline:
  • The Las Vegas Stadium Authority approved agreements for the stadium in December 2024

  • Groundbreaking is expected to begin in mid-2025

  • The stadium is expected to open in early 2028

So in the meantime the A's need a place to play for 2025, 2026 & 2027. They chose to borrow the field in Sacramento (state capital of California) which has a much lower seating capacity. They must share the stadium with the lower level (AAA minor league, one level down) team that was already playing in Sacramento. The Sacramento team will get the choice of dates.

Can't imagine MY seat in WSU will have anyone sitting in it.
Probably lower tiers only on sale.
Think it will be all seats available max £25

If we are losing by a clear margin, imagine how many people will leave early. The home stands will be completely empty on 85 mins.

I've just left.

I don't want to be waiting to exit the Bridge at 3am.

Do you think TV Companies give a **** about that?
I'm 100% certain that they don't .

The transport issues for match- going supporters play no part in the equation whatsoever. The clubs don't care and so the only pushback for daft kick off times would come from the Police.

And we won't hear about that until much later, due to their insistence on communicating via message in a bottle.

Anybody know if the TV money is designed to compensate for possible loss of matchday revenue for cup games? I'd imagine PBOBE would care deeply if it didn't
