It was a masterclass. That big Gonk throwing himself around all first half looking to bully the defenders (not sure who told him that would work against the likes of Van Hecke and Velts) and Velts clearly took it upon himself to get him booked so he had to wind his neck in. He started in the first half anf got himself in front of Delap and forced the foul and got in the refs ear. Then he ran behind him and tried to give him a little barge at the start of the 2nd was shocked to see Velts waiting for it and go down like a sack of potatoes. Job done. Yellow card. Ref on the prowl, not a peep for the rest of the half.

Who the he'll voted for o'riley? I turned the tv on 5 mins late & I didn't realise he was playing until the 30th minute..

I'm a massive fan of veltman (the best looking dutchman I know - no contest really is it). Loved his pass for the 1st goal, his thumping tackle on delap & every bit of his wind ups & dives (yes he does)

But I give motm to Bart (who I'm have been critical of) as without him we could have been behind

Either Bart or Georginio

I don't want to be negative after a much-needed and eventually well-fought away win, but Ayari was genuinely awful in the first half, much better second, but not even close to Man of the 'MATCH'.

I do rate him as a player but that first half was shite. It wasn't just him, mind.
If we're allowed to be negative ....

Mitoma seems to have lost his quality first-touch. He's still great but earlier in the season the ball, from distance and with pace, stuck to his boot like velcro. Now, more often than not, it's run away from him.

Wots occurring?

I disagree.....

I went to the two home matches over the Christmas period - Palace and Brentford. My BIL and I both commented on his incredible first touch (I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone better in that regard in an Albion shirt).

Walton with no thought for his own safety, stepping in front of a flying Pedro and stopping him from ending up in amongst the Ipswich fans about 3 rows back.
