[Football] Palace took less than a thousand to Leicester....

But held on to a 2-0 lead.....
Exactly. Limited kudos in crowing over away fan numbers, given this was one of most frustrating results of the season and demonstrably worse than Palace's.

We took 3k on a sunday. And Leicester is one train from London. I think it's really poor.
Maybe they've got better things to spend their money on mid-week.

This willy waving away crowd thing annoys me a little. Many folk's priority for spending is not twenty two mercenaries kicking a bag of air around a patch of grass. If folk want to do it then it's great to see. But I wouldn't take time off for it these days. Maybe when I was younger.

Didn’t they only sell just over half their villa allocation for a weekend game recently? Someone posted a pic on here where the top tier blocks for their section was mostly empty.

Best fans in the league 👍🏻
To be honest, if Albion fell a bit in the league, and after 11 seasons were going nowhere, I think our away crowds would drop in a similar way. I remember in the Hughton era seeing tickets for matches drop to My Albion+ level that aren't these days.

Palace have never travelled in big numbers.

I have a couple of Palace mates who do a handful of aways a season, and they have no issue getting tickets for matches, as their loyalty points are always good enough.

Even under Potter some went to purchase history.

I'd rather we'd taken fewer fans and actually won our game there TBH

I think this is the point. We always hear what amazing fans they are. Turns out they have the smallest number of away fans in the league.

I suppose that given how expensive it is to live in London it's not really surprising. I would assume that Chelsea and Arsenal don't have this problem with all their plastics.

But just wait until the new stand is built, the cauldron of noise at Selhurst will increase five fold.

Hope I'm still around in 2035 to experience it

Sussex but not by the sea
It's felt to me for a while that we have one of the eldest demographic support in the EPL, which means we have a significant % with £££ to spend and time to do it, Palace always feels like a younger lot.

Anyway I loved the fact that last night Vardy fluffed an almost identical chance to the one he scored v us. Sums our season up for me.
