Lovely to see the Franco scum dispatched.

Absolutely heartbreaking to see it happen in Saudi.
Soon happening in a Super Cup near you I imagine...

Which, to cross threads, is why we need a regulator in this country. Boxing is gone already. You can't watch a good quality title fight now without it being held over there. It's absolutely imperative the same thing doesn't happen in football. A shame that our CEO focuses on the micro effects of IFR on Brighton instead.

This is an interesting point. We know there is a desire amongst some of the money men to get an English competitive fixture abroad, but I think the fan backlash would be significant (see the protests against the European league plans). However, maybe they could get away with moving the community shield abroad.

Don't really follow the sport, but a younger colleague always argues that boxing was on its arse anyway. No-one funding big fights.

I mentioned watching Sunday night fights on ITV back in the day... but I might as well have been talking about (my time in) the Boer War or something.

I'd like to think so but I've seen boxing just accept it.
The fans of the big clubs certainly kicked off at European Super League plans, which was encouraging to see. I don’t know enough about boxing to really compare, but football fans do feel a sense of ownership of their clubs - something which might come as a bit of a surprise to some of the American owners!

What a game.

Mad that Raphinha was at Leeds, really.

Raphinha is insane this season. Great header (credit to Kounde for assist too) and then second was just classic Raph.

19G+11A in 27 games. Also big game player, hattrick against Bayern and 3G+2A in two El Clasicos. Has also stepped up as a leader of the team. Wouldn't change him for any other LW. Can't believe I was ready to sell him around 15 months ago. Not that I didn't appreciate him but just never expected him to turn into what he is today. Tbf turnaround already started in last 6 months under Xavi but he's now a different beast within Flick's system that plays to his strengths.

I don't like these comparisions (if anything playing style wise he is closer to Neymar than Messi imo) but Yamal's goal reminds me so much on Messi. If he can add this cool finishing to his repertoire then sky is the limit.

also, welcome to
