I love numbers, yes bit sad I know. Consequently I get really annoyed by meaningless use of statistics like those contained in the linked Twitter post.

So Reform has an 11% increase in its vote, but from what, to what? 100 to 111?

As far as I can find out, Reform have won 7 local council seats since the GE, while the Conservatives have gained 24 seats, which doesn’t correlate with the percentage of vote gain.

It‘s all stuff and nonsense, being driven by largely right wing media and social media accounts, who have suddenly realised that 5 years is a long time to keep digging up ”scandals” that nobody cares about…
I love Brighton & Hove Albion Football scores, yes a bit sad I know. Consequently I get really annoyed if the scores aren’t in favour of Brighton.

Not quite the same really is it…?

Percentage increases mean nothing, if no context is given, as is the case with the Reform percentage increase.

In a real world example, while working for The Met as an Intelligence Analyst, my Borough Commander was keen for me to put a “massive“ 50% reduction in burglaries, in New Addington ward, in our local tasking document. What he wasn’t so keen on was to publish the raw data, where burglaries went down from 4 to 2 in the 2 week period - a nice reduction he could claim credit for, but totally meaningless as just a simple snapshot in time.

Not really a political media issue. I can think of at least 2 reasons why.

Labour won big on a split RW vote, there is no mandate and little love.

Due to the last decade being poisoned with the culture war people are sick of it especially "woke", Labour have been in the wilderness this time and get elected so rub their hands thinking "Time for some woke"..... KABOOM!

This iteration of the left which grew out of the US civil rights movement is effectively dead in the water, they just don't know it yet.

What have Labour done since coming to power that you consider is "woke".

Interested to hear your definition of it via actual examples.

Not answering a question is a non-action. So if that's the 'top answer' it highlights nothing.

I'm after actual examples of things that have actually happened. What I was asking is what actual policies introduced or actions done that are "woke"? What has Labour introduced / plan to introduce that is "woke".
Nothing from @Crawley Dingo yet?

I’m assuming he got a standing ovation?

There he goes with his police escort which held up departure of vehicles from the coach park for a while.

Prioritising non white business for Government contracts.
Refusing a public enquiry into the Rotherham rape gangs.
Giving away a strategically important island to an ally of China.

Not dismantling DEI programs.

Prioritising non white business for Government contracts.
Which ones - evidence please.
Refusing a public enquiry into the Rotherham rape gangs.
You mean the public inquiry that the (presumably equally woke) Tories also refused to hold? You will have read the reasoning (that there has already been an inquiry, and the recommendations have yet to implemented) - so on what basis would you say the decision is 'woke' based?
Giving away a strategically important island to an ally of China.
Why is this 'woke'? You might disagree with it - but why is it 'woke'?
Not dismantling DEI programs.
You mean that re-introducing discrimination and unfair treatment of minorities is something that should actively be sought to avoid being labelled 'woke'.

Are you misguidedly conflating 'woke' with 'fair'?

Why are the BBC complicit in perpetuating lies?
This makes out an elderly couple are so cold, the only heat they have is from their dogs.

In reality, John Dockree is a retired Vice President of Mercedes Benz Philippines, returning back to the UK in 2022. His wife, aged 57, works part-time, but was also a UKIP candidate.
I very much doubt he is on the breadline, nor turning his heat off.

Meritocracy is fair are you saying non-whites are not good enough?
??

I really don't follow your point - you need to explain it a bit more.

The whole purpose of DEI programmes are to promote fair treatment and full participation of all people, particularly groups who have historically been underrepresented or subject to discrimination on the basis of identity or disability. You wish to dismantle these, as you consider them 'woke'. If that happens, then we are likely to slip back into discriminatory decisions instead of appointments on merit. So, dismantling DEI programmes is the way to bring back unfair treatment and is the opposite of trying to achieve meritocracy.

I notice you haven't answered the other questions or provided evidence to back up your statements as requested.

No they are not, basing groups on "Historical oppression" is neither fair or true.

A couple more points, I think i got sucked into this thread by you mentioning me and I have no real interest so I am done here, any queries may I refer you to google.

From now on if I post a source and get a snide ignorant remark about it rather than referencing the article then that's an auto block. I have better things to do than be dragged by left-wing trolls and bullshitters.

You posted on this thread in answer to another poster - not me.

You basically stated that Labour = Woke.

I asked for examples of Labour policies that are woke.

You gave a list of four things.

I challenged you for evidence, and questioned you on some.

You now appear to be doing a familiar routine of: 'I can't actually answer or provide evidence, so I'm going to claim I'm being trolled and run away'.

As to this bit:

That's astonishing. It is not me that has made ignorant remarks and been unable to provide a reference. I haven't referred to any article, it's you that has been asked to provide evidence to back up your comments - and have signally failed to do so. What am I 'bullshitting' about??
