I remember focusing on Caceido during matches when he really began to hit his stride with us and sometimes thinking, this guy always makes the right decision, always gets the ball when he wants it and then does what he intended to do, and never seems to make mistakes. He was incredible for us and frankly impossible to replace, like for like.

Baleba has the potential to be even better and you see him improving month by month. Sometimes you just sense he's had enough of the other side having possession and he just seizes the ball and bulldozes his way through them. But he's also capable of more intricate and skillful stuff.

I can't believe there are many club sides in the world that wouldn't be improved by him. And I do worry that our Bissouma-Caicedo-Baleba production line will have to stutter some time soon.
Yalcouye? Seems to be exceeding expectations at the moment.

yeah this.

I would hope we will be looking to keep Baleba for next season, before selling him on for Caicedo money, giving Yalcouye the opportunity to be ready to take over the mantle.

Really worries me that we will lose 2 of baleba , mitoma and Pedro in the summer. One we might be able to cope with , 2 and I can see us sinking further down the table to 13-15th.
That's what people said about losing Ali Mac and Caicedo.

both have now played about the same number of games for Brighton, but I would say that Baleba still needs more experience and improvement to get to the same level as Caicedo was when he left us.

Mac and caciedo got us there. Then they left and we slipped down the table. What am I saying that's wrong !!?
That is true but we didn't slip down the table until de Zerbi blew up at Christmas and we fell off a cliff, is what I am saying.

Baleba has a higher ceiling IMHO. His consistency and physicality has, in the last 12 months, increased exponentially. Another 12 months and he’ll have gone past Caicedo I think.

He’s an absolute gem. As many others have said, enjoy him while we have him and hope his exit is more Ale Mac than Caicedo.

I think Caicedo’s strength was his football intelligence. He had and played with some experienced players around him. This improved him massively. Not sure Baleba is getting the benefit of that at the moment.
Baleba is a better athlete and has more technical ability than Caicedo. He will get better and better

Baleba is the most athletically -gifted player we have ever had.
He technical skills aren’t top class but he’s so fast and strong, he can recover.
Caicedo is the better all round player At the moment.
If they stay fit and focussed, both should become world class.
