[Albion] Club cancelling ST due to non-attendance

If people cant make games, but list it for sale, then im sure you'll hear nothing from the club. But if people continually miss games, and never list the ticket for sale, then its pretty understandable that at a point the club will then step in.....given how easy it is to list it for sale. Not sure what the tolerances are though.
I’ve made my ticket available for re sale, to then be told by my son (who sits with me) that some total tool of an away fan was next to him. Not the experience he wants.

And you’re certain that in most cases it’ll be an away fan rather than an Albion fan buying your ticket? I’m not

My ST neighbours have sold their tickets on the exchange a number of times this season - all to Brighton fans 👍 I’ve no issue if they were away fans that behaved and were respectful. If they were a ‘total fools’, I’d have no hesitation in reporting them.

Fantastic that the club are taking this seriously, almost criminal that there are empty seats from ‘couldn’t be arsed to make it available’ folk on repeat.
There are a lot people on here getting very precious and judgemental on people who are not attending matches.

As seen on both threads, there are people with many reasons why they cannot attend either at short notice or due to life issues. Many of these will have been supporters / season ticket holders for many years but that doesn’t seem to matter to many on here which is ironic given how many times people complain now that the club has lost its soul and yet these views of fellow fans is just as bad.

I said “on repeat”. Others fit the circumstances you mention.

In a wealthy part of the world and an attending fanbase 5x greater than 15 years ago, there’ll be relaxed folk who nabbed ST’s, the low spend just a trifling sunk cost to them, who only attend a handful of games per season. ESL literally every PL game visibly has loads of empty seats. Nothing to do with the in Mallorca in August or my kids have school the next day …. because at every game. Near us in the NS the number of empty seats has grown since the wins have dried up.

To be fair there's two different examples of non attendance being discussed here. There's a huge difference between people missing games for genuine understandable life reasons, and people with season tickets who have a relaxed attitude to when they attend and so continually miss games while not listing the ticket for resale. The judgement/complaints, and when the club step in is very much aimed at the latter.

Ironic that I gave up my ST a few years back (Covid time) as I couldn’t get to home games and back in a day, and then last year, as I’d been to more away games than home, I was at the bottom of the list for a ST if I wanted it, but was eventually offered one anyway. Not that I took it, as I still cannot rely enough on Southern to get me back to Portsmouth Hbr in time for the last train-connecting FastCat home.

Some of you may be aware that a long term Albion fan has decided not to renew his ST due to the fact that (allegedly) the club has cancelled his son’s ticket due to non-attendance. I had an operation to remove my prostate in October and had to miss some home games so I thought I would check in the ST T&C’s to find out what the club policy is regarding non-attendance. However, I can’t find anything in the ST T&C’s that stipulates how many games a ST holder must attend. There seems to be no limit for the 24/25 season on how many times you can offer your ticket for resale which tends to suggest that there is no minimum attendance rules but maybe this appears somewhere else in the club’s various T&C’s. Can anyone on NSC illuminate me?
I dont think there is a limit in fact sure they are happy for many not to attend as long as put on exchange so club can make a further £10/15

Some people are strange. We had a seat directly adjacent to us (WSL) that was empty for about 2 seasons, but whenever we tried to buy it for an extra person to join us it never appeared as available. Always used to just buy a ticket in the general vicinity and have our mate sit in the vacant seat next to us anyway, but still left an empty seat that could’ve be snapped up.

If you can't make it to a game and can't be arsed to list your ticket(s) on the exchange then it's probably nature's way of telling you that you have way too much disposable income
Not always a case of can’t be arsed, myself, my wife and 2 adult sons sit together. One son recently had a operation and couldn’t attend for 3 games, we paid the £20 and took Albion + friends to 2 of the games.
On the Southampton game my other son also couldn’t make the game because he couldn’t get back from university (as the match was moved to a Friday night ) our friends had other plans so I suggested we list 2 tickets, my wife said we could end up with away fans next to us and I agreed and didn’t list them.
Turned out the row in front had 5 Southampton fans that got thrown out, these were on listed tickets I believe as the fans that usually sit there are regulars.
I see the post above yours has had a similar issue with away fans.

A few years back we had our seats in the West Upper and the neighbouring seat was empty all season and never on the exchange, great for coat and protecting merch from non bottle top
Incidents.

The STH turned up on the last game of the season when we beat United and he left early as well, bizarre

Whatever the reason for non attendance, it's a choice about listing the ticket.
