Blimey, just logged on this morning and it seems everything at the club is being slagged off by everyone left right and centre. Players that came from behind to beat City and Spuds are now being recommended to binned off. Get rid of Enciso, Dunk past it, Mitoma no good, FH allegedly rowing with Welbz, Ferguson gone Awol, Fanzone should be binned off, light show pathetic (well agree with that one) etc etc. Young players with potential to be sold off, experienced legends now all of a sudden beyond their sell by date. There was a recent thread asking whether the albion fanbase has become entitled. Looking at a host of threads this morning that is clearly the case with some. A bit hypocritical bearing in mine on another recent thread people were challenging the club about forgetting where we had come from!

Jesus, in that first half we played some fantastic football but just didn't get the rub of the green. In the second half it was different as Brentford upped their game. That and being aware of recent form got to the players.

It's a frustrating run we are on but it will end.

On to Villa. If we win there, I wonder what type of threads will appear the following morning!!!

When I see where’s your mojo at threads I always think … in the Premier League- so mojo a million but also losing games drawing games we could win ..100’s of shots for no goals so it’s just the same old same old. Fortunately most of us have had decades of training to prepare us for runs like this !!! 😆

It’s funny how we see things differently. I thought the first half was massively frustrating. Enciso missed two easy chances for sure but the rest of it was just shoot from anywhere rubbish. Our passing was off, I had no idea where O’Riley was supposed to be playing and Estupinian was sending my blood pressure through the roof.

Talked to @Hotchilidog and @Lady Whistledown at HT and they totally disagreed and thought we had a good first half.

A frustrating second half will only have exacerbated that split. Similar discussions to on here were going on in the train queue.

I really enjoyed the first half last night, thought we were superb, dangerous, unfortunate yet wasteful in equal measure- I was out of my seat thinking we’d scored on several occasions, not sure Fabs deserves quite so much hate tbh, he’s not immune from criticism however and there’s no denying we’re fragile… very fragile to the ball out wide over the top.

Pah; no hyperbole from me… it’s just a game.

We’ll probs lose to Villa (as we usually do) and beat Arsenal, it’s kind of our way…

Think you nailed it with your summary.

Thought we played very well in the first half but as usual this season, so far, couldn't maintain it for the whole match.
A fair question now to Fabian is why can't the team do that?

when you think a month ago if we had just beaten Southampton, we would of been second in the Premier league,
got out played by a team who at the time had only got 4 points , and has been going downhill ever since. Playing against teams who were mainly in the bottom half of the table

I watch us and can’t work out if something is about to click and we are on the verge of being better than ever.
Or the wheels have fallen off, the manager is out of his depth and we are propped up by a select few excellent players.
Are we building a new playing style or are we stumbling around?

I admit that I am an exceedingly "tough crowd" for being extremely disappointed at zero wins from "the easy six'. Must do better no matter how long it takes to win again.

Great post. Reminding us of perspective.

Still annoyed though.

So you're saying it was "shoot from anywhere rubbish", whereas I mostly see people complaining about trying to walk it into the net instead of shooting.

I think, as with Potter, this squad may eventually succeed, in spite of the manager, not because of him. But it looks a far inferior squad to the one Potter had at his disposal. The recruitment over the Summer look a bit scattergun and thin on quality

Hmm . Interesting to read that some "enjoyed" the first half last night. I guess I am just different as our performance really frustrated me. The Enciso misses plus other opportunities needed to be taken as we so often drop off second half. Their keeper was having a great game and when he went off injured I thought we would pepper the debutant replacement - but no - I can't remember him having a shot to save.
Just another disappointment in a long list of Amex games that are like Groundhog day.

Agree with you. We seem to be at a point where confidence has drained away and players thrive on confidence. The Premier league is bloody tough when you play well(1st half last night) yet, don't find the net then, as game goes on we run out of ideas. I'm still not sure on tactics half way through the season now but we've also been comfortable in matches only to blow leads. We've struggled to break some teams down but when we've had a 2 goal lead we've also surrendered them.🤷‍♂️

Valdimarsson definitely did a couple of saves but shots were straight at him so he hardly had to work.
