But offside is black and white. You're either off or on. Doing things like leaving it to the on field decision leads to lawsuits and clubs holding up the season ending as the cases roll on as it could lead to clubs being relegated due to these decisions.

Offside isn’t always black and white. It frequently comes down to a discretionary judgement about whether a player is interfering with play, for instance.

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned but before the goal kick that Liverpool equalised from the ball boy had thrown the ball to the keeper who then took the kick quickly. Doesn't the rule state that this is wrong and that the player must get a ball from a cone?

Nope. Tech isn't good enough to determine precisely when the ball was kicked, so there's a margin for error that isn't accounted for in how VAR operates, but they still draw the lines anyway

Do you think we’ll beat Brentford? I see a draw.

I think we’ll have a 50 points season. But the run of PL games after Brentford, none of them are easy to say the least.
A loss or draw would be counter to where I think we are on the overall trajectory - we are still just about going in the right direction but a loss or draw tomorrow at home will look definitely like Europe will be beyond us this season and we will end up with a mid-table finish . Not that that would be bad for a young manager’s first season in the PL nor something the Club epwould worry about. I just think some of the more social media engaged fans will start howling if we end up 11th or 12th.

Now can someone tell me how much GD we need to win by to go to 7th tommorrow please my brain’s stopped commputing.

We have technology to measure the movement of a photon, we really do have the tech. the millionaires game wont invest in it.

I'm glad that Albion have grown to hate Chelsea in recent seasons. We've got reasons going back to the formation of that club in the late 19th century but it's the general arrogance, thuggery, condescension and entitlement of it and their fans (except one I know in Brighton) that fuels our hatred these days.

The penny has dropped with you as well.

I was going to have a night off the booze today but that's gone out the window!
I have engaged with Chelsea fans 6 times in last 7 years and only once game across a dickhead , the rest were just good fans across a mixed age range happy to talk football. The worst fans I have engaged with were two Brighton fans that sat near me, absolute c**ts. Don't like the club that much but there are a few worse IMO.

f*** off Newbie, you’ll understand in time, if you hang around that long :lolol:
Ah, I see the season of peace and goodwill to all men (other than Wilfried Zaha) is firmly in the rearview mirror.

I’d be highly surprised if we made Europe. And ecstatic.

Forest, Bmuff and Fulham are in far better form, all have a tried n trusted way of playing. Yet imho two out of the three won’t make Europe. Simply through weight of spending power giving squad depth and game-changers, the huge spenders generally ascend the table in the closing months. Chelsea and Manure were shit last season, yet made 6th and 8th.

Win by 1 and we go 9th, win by 2 and we're 8th, and win by 3 and we're 7th.
(I think) :)
