😂😂😂 go on then, why are they selling his ticket?

I think the problem that everyone is having with this, is that nobody else has a similar story to tell, meaning either:

1. Your friend hasn’t fully disclosed the level of their non-attendance (and/or non-communication) with the club.

or

2. Your friend is being vindictively singled-out and treated as an example to other STHs. (unlikely)

Given that the post above yours from @sparkie is somebody in an identical situation, it suggests your friend either registered with an email/phone they no longer check, or they haven’t ever checked their junk email folder, or they haven’t given you the full story in terms of how irregular their attendance has been.

Only your friend knows the full story, and I hope they get things resolved to their satisfaction, but surely you can understand those who are a bit sceptical that the club have acted so cavalierly, on a sample size of one.

My season ticket has been next to my friend’s since we’ve been at the Amex so he can’t actually fib about his attendance.
I appreciate it’s easy for everyone to assume that he’s being economical with the truth, but having known him for 20 years or so I can assure you that it’s just not in his nature. I’ve had more lengthy messages in the last 48hrs from him than I’d usually expect to receive in about 5 years. He’s proper miffed about what’s happened.

On that basis it sounds like he needs to have a discussion with the club.

This interests me as there is a seat next to me which someone uses at most twice a season and maybe a couple of times a year has tourist fans (usually toxic six or similar) in. This has gone on for probably three years, though it is handy having somewhere to put my coat.. He's a season ticket holder and others nearby see him occasionally, but not at the Amex these days.

He’s tried repeatedly, they aren’t budging. He’s not an NSC user but I’ve linked him to the thread and he’s now even more annoyed, he actually swore in a message to me which I can honestly say is the first time I’ve heard him curse. He’s not giving up without a fight.

Well until very recently we were making huge losses every year, coming directly out of Tony’s pocket, so I wouldn’t describe trying to be sustainable as ‘disgusting and tasteless’. What else ? Sell food and beer at cost price ?
But we’re now incredibly profitable without our ticket money and if you believe the plan the club talk about re sustainability through transfers then it really does just look like penny pinching at the expense of loyal fans at the end of the day.

Hove actually
Seems ridiculous....Presume he is or has paid for his ticket for season. We are simply reminded we need to attend a percentage of games per season which even if he has been to none so far he will be able to comply with. Club needs to lighten up over ticket usage for friends when you can`t go. "It`s ok for the elite in 1901" to let anyone go but not for us normal season ticket holders.
Come renewal time I`d guess there will be many who struggle to renew.
This has got me going. The Albion are going the wrong way about things. Be a 1901 member and pretty much do what you like and when you like. God help you if you happen to not be a member of the prawn cocktail brigade. As to the North stand redevelopment…..that’s for another chat!

Is it more about freeing up seats for more folk to attend? No matter the fixture time and date eg 3pm Saturdays nowhere near school holidays, there are always a stack of no-shows. Really obvious looking at ESL, every game. Do a load of people hold onto their season tickets for dear life, cherry picking occasional games when it appeals, not bothering with the exchange for all the others?

You say this, but try hanging your coat on a coat rail.

40 million on upgrades and we still have to put our coats on the backs of our chairs. Absolute piss take.

Just far enough away from LDC
"Yeah, I'm doing Norwich away. They do cracking pies!"

No.
I know people who don't do west ham away as the view is shit, the food is overpriced, poor drinks, and stewards treat away fans like criminals.

It's not so much what's good as what can be awful

Remove the requirement that a ticket can only be shared with someone willing to pay £35 odd to be a MyAlbion+ Member and you will have more seats filled, higher spend on food and drink, better atmosphere, improved optics on TV from a stadium no longer littered with empty seats and no need to send out vaguely threatening emails about non attendance

For a Premier League club who ticket revenue represents a tiny, tiny fraction of income, it is mad to want to milk this cow. Or more likely, harvest the data of everyone and anyone coming into the stadium
The club issue here is not so much that its the friction of sharing or reselling tickets that is getting in the way of a fuller ground or a desire for more ticket revenue or ££ (its already sold out, thousands of tickets sell on the exchange, users share tickets with A+ members routinely) but its STHolders who for whatever reason don't upgrade their tickets (you don't have to be a member to get one), share them (thats with members only) or put them on the exchange despite emails, advertising and frequent communication.

And then although they have sanctions if you don't go / leave the ticket unused- although the terms at least just say - they reserve right to stop renewal if you attend "less than 25% of matches". That's , without exceptional circumstances (in which case the club , in my experience at least, are very open to conversations about moving tickets or refunding them or making exceptions to terms and listening if you get in touch) .

this is really a story about fairness. There are plenty of other fans who want to take your place either as ST holders or buying single tickets for matches. (and also a fuller ground has plenty of other benefits in terms of atmosphere, tv etc ) . My lad is at university and in his final year now (thankfully) and has a ST but comes back for a lot of matches, or i share them with his brother or mates (who are all A+ members) .

I’m finding it really difficult to understand this post. The brackets, clauses, and caveats are confusing. I’ve tried three times. Maybe it’s me.

Ha :ROFLMAO: I'm finding it difficult to understand this entire thread. I though it was about the fact that soeone didn't realise there was minimum attendance on your season ticket!
