Part of me doesn't blame him, but then again part of me questions why he's not hit the gym? He's too lightweight. Whereas Ensico, Ali Mac, Goodnight, March, etc did something about it, he still looks lightweight 2 years on. He's in the wrong league IMO. I wouldn't loan him, I'd sell him.

Although it's great having a squad of real quality, this scenario is always going to happen, I guess. It must be difficult for some of the guys from last season (Enciso, Adingra, even Ferguson, to a point) to accept the role that they are playing. I guess some of it comes down to the change in manager, but also trying to introduce the new guys in.

A nice problem to have in terms of the quality available to choose from but, from a man-management point of view, a facking nightmare, I would imagine!

Being harsh, he could start by playing better, I suppose. Last season he was often an impact sub but this time round he hasn't really taken too many of the opportunities that have come his way. There was his cross for Joao Pedro's winner against Manchester United, but not too much else?

March has played 25 minutes of reserve football and then disappeared.

There’s a good chance Mitoma goes in the summer. Loan for Adingra to get him ready to compete for that spot seems sensible.

Every young player worth their salt is hungry for more playing time. That's how it should be. How to manage those expectations, as you say, must be a facking nightmare. So many of last season's starlets suddenly sidelined. It must be a seismic shift in their sense of who they are and where they fit in.

Taking the positives, looks like Barco might be heading back our way in January. It's not really working out for him at Sevilla. Fingers crossed that new guy rates him

Without looking at the stats with March and Mitoma missing most of the season I would say he basically started almost every game from November onwards. Thought he looked absolutely knackered at the end of the season so was willing to give the benefit of the doubt but hasn’t kicked on at all this season when the chances have come.

The problem for him last season was that he wasn't an impact sub. Because of the all the injuries we had he basically never got a rest.

Agreed.
I’ve been quite critical of him, post AFCON, about 3-4 decent games since then, even when he was playing in his ‘favoured’ position when Mitoma was out.

If clubs allegedly pay a premium in January, I’d be tempted to cash in.

I would think the real problem is that he sees Minteh ahead of him in the pecking order. Whilst I think Minteh played better than he has when he came on against WHU, I could understand why Adingra would have been pissed off in the matches before that!! That said, I agree with most sentiments in that he hasn't grasp opportunities when they did come along.
