I'm on a stream. So.maybe missing something. Certainly not saying we've been great, but some decent passages, and confidence will be low, so looking in that context. What are you seeing in the ground that makes you think we are playing so badly? Apart from Pedro being annoying.
Lack of leadership, lack of structure and shape, the forcefield around their penalty area that makes us not shoot.

Acres of space between Pervis and Dunk for Bowen to run into. Bart's distribution, Pedro not passing the ball and going down whenever he's tackled, our continued weakness at defending and taking set pieces.

Weiffer the one bright spot.

Apart from that, encouraging...

Satisfactory first half - started slowly/poorly, looking like the off-form side that we are... but grew into the second half, finishing the stronger out of the two sides.

Wieffer having his best half for us so far IMO - a real nuisance, and some decent passing working the ball out.

Gruda looking okay - probably needs to release the ball a bit quicker, but he'll still be adapting to the pace of the Premier League

Mitoma - having a good game. I know we would all love to see him take on players like he used to, but he is SO consistent with a world class first touch. Involved with all of our key moves today, with our best effort on goal.

Pedro looking frustrated and out of form. He desperately wants a goal and it shows. I can see him getting one, as long as he remains composed.

We're defending well. We probably don't deserve to be winning yet, but we have been the better side.

I think if we continue where we left off in the second half, we should win this - AS LONG as we don't go into defensive self-implode mode.

Well, not the greatest performance from either side. Feels like a mistake will lose it for one or the other. We are still too slow in the transition, and passing needs to improve or, in Pedro's case, happen.
We have to shoot. We just have to.

I understand the realities of modern football. Creating the best chance possible rather than playing the odds with chancing efforts, but Pervis’s chance sums it up. Pedro doing too much too.

Shoot, lads.

Some good passages of play listening on radio, but you hear the frustration in WA and JC’s voices. Room for improvement!

If Pedro is going to play in Welbeck’s position, then he needs to be told to go and stand on the shoulder and be a number 9. He needs to be happy to be less involved but be there when it matters

Yep, Weiffer looking good, demanding the ball, decent vision 👍

There haven't really been any opportunities to shoot. West Ham defending well.

My take

Bart’s hoofing is shit
Mitoma and Pedro frustrating to watch
Wieffer, Gruda and Baleba up for it
Welcome back Veltman
Kudus looks the best player on the pitch

We always seem to be one long ball over the top from conceding.
All these packed defences we have to try and break down and we always look so porous.
Maybe this new assistant coach will help in the new year.
