No. “A car” didn’t drive into those people, a person did. A terrorist did.

They get away with it because people like you have to make it about Left or Right , when it is about right and wrong - NOTHING ELSE , once that has been established we can defend against this happening again together , and leave the bitching and point grabbing for parliament .
There is a bad lot out there, apparently serving under and islamist flag.

The security services can map organizations.

Lone wolves are a problem.

There are obvious solutions but these are problematic for obvious reasons (e.g., that we don't inter people for their religion).

I suspect we may have to suck it up. There are other cause of needless death that carry far more numbers, and we barely blink about this due to their nature.

No evidence whether he acted alone yet.
These acts with cars are most often by a lone terrorist though. The ones belonging to big organisations traditionally usually use bombs whether its the IRA, ETA, ISIS or another terror organisation.

Anyway, hopefully those injured gets well again, and also hopefully the worries about copycat acts turns into nothing.

Nice a few years ago,a warning for any mass social gathering
The fact there is so many barriers around these events tells you all you need to know
The number of churches that have 'caught light' in France in recent years is a bit of a clue

The nature does matter though mate. People with their families at the happiest time of year. Then they get ripped to shreds by a nutter behind a wheel or waving a machete. It's intolerable.
And it's not just the numbers killer or wounded. It's the constant nagging fear in the minds of everyone at these events. The visual reminders whenever you see an armed police officer or the anti-ram bollards.
It's not something that is part of everyday life. People have been guilted into thinking it is.
I generally respect you mate, but come on. I don't think you even believe what you say deep down.

Btw, 3 terrorist attacks on German Christmas markets have already been prevented this year. All those arrested are either from the MENA region or Turkey.

Not disagreeing with you.

To be clear, I think we have a choice, suck it up, or, well, make life very difficult for British muslims.

I am not a liberal and I haven't yet made up my mind how to 'vote'.

(I will add that drink drivers and their carnage fall equally into my pot of contemplation. Along with others.)

Completely unsurprising. Christmas markets can no longer exist in Europe without massive security and occasional mass killings. It's unsustainable for us to keep living like this and pretending it's normal. Anyone saying otherwise and refusing to address the Elephant in the room is a a complete fool and it's time we treat them as such. We need firm, unified political action. f*** your thoughts and prayers.
Not sure what you mean by the "elephant in room", but if I think it's what you mean it's not going to deal with lone wolf individuals radicalised, often by what they read on the internet unfortunately. The cat is out the bag on that one.

That applies to both radical interpreters of religion, neo Nazis like the London nail bomber or whatever drives a lunatic to shoot up a school in America.

Near by market shut down as well, not sure if due to evidence of another attack.
This is exactly how terror works

So what is the bigger risk?
You do remember what happened at Charlie Hebdo?

but then we need to distinguish between the two…ive used this to help

Islamism is not a form of the Muslim faith or an expression of Muslim piety; it is, rather, a political ideology that strives to derive legitimacy from Islam.

Islamic terror is a very specific threat, and one which is a growing problem once again across Europe, following 9/11, the London bombings, Charlie Hebdo and the other attacks like this one in Germany and elsewhere. This is far from the first attack of its kind. It’s not the time or place to debate school shootings vs neo nazism et al, respectfully, it comes across as deflection of what is a truly heinous crime that has been committed tonight.
