6 am here in Western Québec and -16 °C if you want to be close to literal re: the post title. Still not winter coat-worthy weather for me, though... -20 °C is my minimum temp for donning the big and fluffy. Interestingly enough, minus 20 is when icicles begin to form on my nose hairs -- a tell-tale sign of actual cold weather.

Same - I’m on my mid thickness jacket at the moment! Never owned so many coats until I moved to Canada 😅

Surely -20 °C is your maximum temp (ie warmest) for donning the 'big and fluffy', otherwise you'd be wearing it throughout the summer....
Oh, and have you now succumbed to those Quebec State laws that demand everything is written the French way, acute accents et al?
