I can't see that. It was a very professional hit, right after he'd been found guilty in Ukraine, and Ukraine claimed it shortly afterwards. Those things wouldn't have happened if it wasn't Ukraine.
That’s true. I just wonder, beyond this incident, that if there is a rebel Russian group(s) you’d expect Ukraine to be working with them.

My understanding is that any organised opposition within Russia has been eliminated. But my information may be out of date. Things could be moving apace, and we would know little or nothing about it until the bones fly out of the sack.

Exactly.
I find it interesting that Russia isn't able/ interested in the same activities on Ukrainian targets. I suppose the main method of Russia's war is the blunt instrument of indiscriminate bombing to terrify the citizens.
That’s an interesting point. Apparently in the year before the war Russia’s FSB significantly increased its presence in Ukraine with the aim of helping pre war planning and post invasion activities, so you’d have thought they would have the capability to strike within Ukraine. That they don’t seem to have done so yet, and the fact that the invasion didn’t go to plan will no doubt call in to question the effectiveness of the FSB

It might as well be when prosecutors are seeking 6 year jail terms for Navalny's lawyers on the grounds they were part of an extremist group,

How will they retaliate, are they going to invade again?
It's almost as if they hadn't quite grasped the concept, implications and consequences of war when they initiated it. It's quite simple really, its basically you kill our soldiers and we kill your soldiers and that's exactly what Ukraine did. I can't understand why Russia seem so put out about it.

The Uzbek national, arrested, interrogated and confessed, in record time, for the neutralisation of Kirillov. He says Ukraine offered him an EU passport, when Ukraine isn't in the EU.

Russian Maskirovka at its best? Probably, but it is just possible that is what they intend - to steer the narrative away from news items they don't want the masses to discuss.

When it was announced a Uzbek national had been arrested my first thought was they had picked on this bloke to show how efficient their security services are. We know there is no way Ukraine can give him an EU passport, not that one exists anyway, by the Russian people don't know.

'Hunger is coming to Russia. People will be starving' - Konstantin Samoilov.

We have already heard about the fish rationing in Kamchatka, where fish is abundant, but expensive.
Then on 12 December, it was announced that food ration cards will be introduced in a second province, Kaliningrad, in 2025.
Now, a senator in the Duma has declared the scheme is to be introduced across all of Russia. So the scheme is being rolled out then. Apparently, the scheme has been warmly welcomed by the national newspapers. Save the poor Russians from going hungry. Hooray !

But then it gets darker. Konstantin puts forward the idea that the state is making the Russian people poor - on purpose - and then introducing food cards to control the
distribution of food to the people. Behave and you will eat. Misbehave and you will starve.

See what you think.

His historical perspective is always interesting - let's see what happens as the weeks roll on!

Can you imagine the scope for corruption? Skimming off 'something for the wife' at every stage of the food import, production and distribution industries?

Result: food inflation will be, er, baked in the cake. I can see two tier access to food supplies, a black market, and a widening of the gap between the haves and have nots.

Absolutely. Lots of Fish and butter for the real Russian administrators in the areas...and far less for the people, especially in the provinces I wager.
Oh...and it's treasonable to complain.

OK, I've tried but I give up 🙂. I can't see anything famous about the guy above...but his namesake from centuries before was. I'd love to know your thoughts.
