Almost perfect
I was always pissed off that was allowed to pass. Should have been full sanctions then. Why did the US and UK (and France?) not make it clear to Russia that the Budapest memorandum must be upheld. If we'd all made a fuss when Russia moved into Crimea perhaps the full invasion would not have happened.
A long read but lots of details about Russia's key (for them) oil exports, and how a lot of it is facilitated by Greek registered tankers, and a proportion of the oil ends up in EU countries.
It would certainly highlight the issueUkraine should bomb the tankers. Not ideal for the environment, but I'd say that this war isn't particularly good for the environment.
Another Russian tanker in difficulty in the Black Sea
Going down.
I am delighted to see we are attracting some new members to this thread. Maybe they have looked in from time to time, but not felt the inclination to join in.
Well, you are all most welcome. This has been an absolutely brilliant thread, right from its inception, just over three years ago. Regulars on here have built up a certain camaraderie, very different from the football, in that we are all united in our burning desire to witness the downfall of Russia. Some of us have a very personal stake in this.
You will be joining just when the pressure on the Kremlin is cranking up as the countdown to Trump's peace talks ticks on. I believe we are only just at the beginning of the end of Russia. It could still take a long, long time.
Tune in for some mad, mad things coming out of Russia. There will be lies, deceit, betrayal, backstabbing, scapegoating, threats, gangster trash talk, arrogance, defiance, denial, all kinds of incompetence, as well as things I haven't even thought of.
Fancy an amuse-bouche?
This is Russia's prep for the peace talks. Previously, they published nudey pics of Melania Trump.
An interesting post. I'm sorry you don't feel a need to join in, but that is your prerogative. None of us on here would claim to have a better knowledge than the MSM , or anyone else. But we are aware of the limitations of the MSM. For instance, there are pros (fact based reporting) vs. cons (time taken) with BBC Verify. With fast moving news stories, it has less value, except when reporting on events through the rear view mirror. That said, the Sky News digest is consistently good.I have been looking in on a daily basis and the main contributors to this thread, have been keeping informed better than the MSM, no real need to join in on this as there are members who have a connection to the war in Ukraine, through friends and relatives, and are better informed.
Whilst wishing the worst for the regime in Moscow and its associated supporters, unfortunately the only change has to come from within, this will only occur when someone with Balls high up in the political or military elite, actually allows the Journalists in Russia to tell the truth about what is happening on the doorstep. This is the only way the people will rebel, when they know it is safe to do so.
Allowing Russia to implode on itself, would not be safe for the world as a whole, you would not want nuclear weapons to fall into the wrong hands.
Threats from Russia are solely for the Russian people and its media, but on a daily basis the West and Russia still speak directly to confirm that neither has any intention of using the deterrent.
Yes, that or bomb their loading ports in the Baltic.Ukraine should bomb the tankers. Not ideal for the environment, but I'd say that this war isn't particularly good for the environment.

Medvedev's reaction to the operation, confirms that Ukraine definitely hit the bullseye.
Medvedev calls for retaliation after assassination of Russia’s nuclear troops general
Russia’s Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has threatened Ukraine’s leadership with “retaliation” following the assassination of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, the head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops of the Russian Armed Forces, in Moscow.www.pravda.com.ua
Most likely it seems that Ukrainians (Russia based or special ops) carried out this assassination and other sabotage attacks that we’ve seen over the past couple of years. But I also saw speculation today (can’t remember which news channel) that the killing might also have been the work of disaffected Russians - an interesting development if true.Whether it is Russia-based Ukrainians or Ukrainian special forces operating in Russia, they are likely to have a kill list of Russians who have/had a prominent role in the war.
They are taking the war right to the heart of Moscow. This will help to engender a feeling of insecurity and being under threat of death among the Moscow elite.
Many of them will be wondering if they are on the list. Their perception of a far-away war that doesn't affect them, will be changing.
I read on here that Ukraine has already claimed responsibility. It makes sense to take the war right into Moscow - stir things up a bit, weaken Putin and achieve direct, final retribution. Most likely it seems that Ukrainians (Russia based or special ops) carried out this assassination and other sabotage attacks that we’ve seen over the past couple of years. A new red line, this time a dark crimson, has been implemented. Any more elimination of senior military staff will result in all Christmas leave cancelled for troops at Russian nuclear bases. But with no extra pay.How will they retaliate, are they going to invade again?
