Emery has a great record and was harshly judged for his spell at Arsenal and Iraola had Rayo playing some amazing stuff and punching way above their weight in La Liga. Can’t help but be impressed by start Slot has made either not easy replacing big manager at a top club but seems very calm and assured and has Liverpool playing some great football. Frank at Brentford got a lot of time for be interesting to see if he can replicate that if moved on.

Ireola and Silva stand out for me due to budgets in comparison to the big boys. Also include Forest boss for getting them where they are currently playing to their strengths. Frank at Brentford does a great job too.

Hurzeler,3 weeks ago he was a boy genius,today he's shyte and way too young.
At his age I'd just learnt the offside law and realised 3 tins of charger lager and 5 fags before kick off wasn't the ideal prep for a vital division 12 Sunday league game.
I've absolutely no doubt he will become a top manager,be that with us or elsewhere.

Under pressure at a big club though? No one cares if Brentford lose, big Ange wasn’t far off cracking up last week.
True. Don't know about a United, Liverpool or Spurs but always impressed with his work and general demeanour. If you're winning, it solves everything regardless of the club I think. The style probably isn't intricate enough for some but we don't really know what someone can achieve or how they'd play with better players unless they get the chance.

Just because you start with a nominal squad of 45 players doesn't mean you can't make a fist of it.
Potter and Fat Frank failed but new boy is succeeding by ruthlessly binning off half the squad.
Chelsea have broken every financial rule possible, but legally backfilled it all by playing "mum's Monopoly" ("yes of course you can have my Park Lane, dear") with their assets, of course.

Interesting to see so many mentions of Marco Silva and Thomas Frank – both working wonders with limited budgets. It got me thinking though, what about Unai Emery? Villa seem to have turned into a very tough side under him, and he's getting some serious results.
How much of their success do you think comes down to his tactics, and how much is it down to the squad finally clicking?

True, all clubs that have now overtaken us, hopefully briefly, and 16 months ago I could not see that happening. All four managers have done brilliantly this season so far

To be fair he’s got the Chimps League to contend with, has done a decent job considering. Hopefully he’ll get poached by a big club!
